I also find it very confusing, because… in his song “Therapy Session” he says “Why don’t you write us some happy raps? That would be awesome, all of your music is moody and dark Nate, don’t get me started!” Now, he’s in a happier mindstate, and people are nagging him for becoming happier…….? Something I don’t understand

Man, sometimes I wish yall would dive through all his songs. I know yall don't really wanna dedicate a whole bunch of yalls' channel to one particular artist, but really what NF has done from his Mansion album until now is something special. He's really created a verbal testimony of his life that folks can visualize like a movie just from hearing his songs from album 1 to present. And then you throw in the music videos and the man is incredible. A lot of folks simplify NF down to 'Moody music' but he's done something really quite unique from any other rapper, as a whole product (lyrics, music, & video). He can switch his cadence up to match those he's featured with, his raps are witty and thoughtful and schemey in different ways on different tracks, and all of it when you really get down to it is a testimony that God has worked through him to drive discussion and change. Man I could dissect the whole NF thing all day. His music is great and it's not just because it resonates with depressed people lol (not saying yall think that, just there are lots of folks that do think that). Anyway, appreciate yall boys, hope DJ Jeremiah is alright, yall be cool ✌🏾

This is the setup for the new project he's putting out soon. It signifies a new chapter in his life where he's going into the light after the birth of his son. This album is going to be different to his last projects where he showcases this new version of NF without the burdens hanging over him. I'm really looking forward to him trying different things we'll see what the album is like.

I really enjoy the different perspectives. I fully understand both sides of this. I have the two he released on repeat right now and cannot wait for the rest. However, I have followed Nate since Moments which wasn't great but I still listen to several off that album. If you want to take if further back he performed for an AoG fine arts when he was I think Highschool age. So for those of us that have followed, these songs just remind me of Gods overpowering grace and I respect his transparency and willingness to put it so boldly in his art. God bless love listening to you all. Cant wait to hear what you thought of Motto.

I am a huge NF fan and, no pun intended, I feel like this is evolutionary state. I'm not just saying as a person but also as an artist. I think every artist has that moment where they shift and I think this is NF's time. For me, I feel as if NF has been the only artist that I've consistently been able to evolve with. I still like that, despite this, it doesn't feel like he's losing his style. It doesn't feel like he's losing his flow. Talent wise, he sounds the same if not better and I"m here for the journey.

Posted by Auralcrave: Hope: the song lyrics, the meaning & the video Hope is a song that welcomes a new emotion, a new part of himself, in NF’s life. As fans know, NF often talks about his different feelings, impersonating his emotions as actual characters. In the past, he had a pessimistic view of life, but now things have changed, and there is a new emotion, a new part of himself, inaugurated by the new album: hope. It’s the first time the rapper feels hopeful. Hope is a song released by the rapper NF, aka Nathan Feuerstein. Released in February 2023, it announces his new album Hope, set for release on April 7, 2023. As often happens with his music, the song has a deep meaning full of different shades, the lyrics are pretty long and need to be explained. This article will analyze the song and the video, providing all answers. You will also find the complete lyrics at the end. The Hope lyrics tell the long story that made NF what he is today. He takes the merit for his change: he was a man looking for meaning for many years, but he’s always been loyal to himself. Now, he feels he’s harvesting the peace he deserves after years of struggling. The song begins with NF talking with the part of himself that was in control for all these years, stating that now it’s time to hand over to this new dimension: hope, which is also the title of his new album. Then the first long rap bars of Hope start, and NF dedicates these lyrics to the definition of success in life. He lists what a successful person is for him. That successful person is himself, for the way he behaved in the last years, always trying to do the right thing against what the rest of the world did. The definition of success for NF is listening to your heart, doing what’s right, being brave, and being loyal to yourself. A person that puts his sense of justice and righteousness above everything There is a lot of pride in the Hope lyrics. NF feels he managed to accomplish an essential step in his self-growth. The last bars in this verse explain how he spent many years driven by his pain and hatred, whereas now, a new phase has started. In the official video this is the moment when NF is pushed from the back by his own dark side. Until now, the NF dressed in white, representing the new hopeful NF, has been talking to the dark NF, probably representing his fear, his hatred. The new NF explains to the old one that it’s time to give control to hope. But when the dark NF pushes the new one, throwing him inside the mansion, we understand that the hopeful NF is still afraid that his past self can affect his growth. At this moment, Hope lyrics say, “they get it,” referring to the dark parts of himself, knowing what’s going on. Mansion is NF’s first album, released in 2015, representing where his internal conflicts occur. There is a lot of pride in the Hope lyrics. At this moment, Hope lyrics say, “they get it,” referring to the dark parts of himself, knowing what’s going on. Mansion is NF’s first album, released in 2015, representing where his internal conflicts occur. At this moment, a new series of thoughts kick in. NF reflects on the necessity of having breakdowns. Hitting rock bottom is painful, but it also motivates you to start over again, building your new self. It forces you to take responsibility for what you are; it pushes you to make crucial decisions for yourself. Therefore, what happened in that mansion is not necessarily bad. The last part of the lyrics inside Hope describes the fruit of the rapper’s change: in 2021, NF became dad, and now he’s committed to being the best example for his son every day. He doesn’t want to repeat his parents’ mistakes, neglecting their prole. In an emotional vision, NF is standing at his window, waiting for his parents to come, but then he kind of releases this worry and forgives his mother: a significant step forward in the path of self-growth. Wake up every day and pick my son up After thirty years while NF always felt wrong and inadequate, a new phase of his life has started, and this is the real meaning of the lyrics inside Hope: I welcome a new, optimistic part of myself into my life, and I let him drive for now, as something I deserve after a life struggling. It’s a crucial change of perspective and clear proof that working on himself always gives results.

I fully agree NF is not the type of artist you want to pick when you want a roadtrip song or just a light song, but if (like me) you want music to have the same depth and story as a good literature, it can be something you listen to again and again. But, again, it takes a special kind of person, I also listen to some audiobooks again and again since I enjoy good stories so much 😊

The song opens with Nate addressing Hope to not give up on him. Notice the paddle from "Lost" is on the raft. Then (in my opinion) switches to Hope talking to Nate saying Nate's had a great 30 year run trying to do it Nate's way, but now it's Hope's turn (although there seems to be some debate on who's album this is. Then NF raps about success, giving his typical #NFRealMusic. The scenes showing how his old self (black clothes) is always misleading him, giving him wrong direction and sabotaging any progress he's making while he's trying to follow the "map to Hope". He then revisits Mansion (where the journey all started, for all practical purposes), we see the cover of Therapy Session, the cover of Perception, several items that are callbacks to previous songs. It's an Easter Egg smorgasbord for NF Fans. Then the last section of him on the peak of the hill at the beach is foreshadowing to what we can expect on the rest of the Hope album.... mention of "mama", and an epic struggle between dark Nate and the new hopeful Nate... ending with Hope saying "I'm taking the reins".

"Memories" made his "mansion", "Therapy sessions" changed his "perception", So "the search" amongst "coulds" for "Hope" continues Sadly this hinders NF gaining the mass following that he truly deserves. But if you haven't been here from the start of taken the time to go back to where he began you cannot fully appreciate the scale of artistry he puts forth.

I like the lost in the ocean and then coming to the shore meaning. Because the Bible always uses the Ocean as sin, death, the world, and evils sprits and thing in general. So he is showing that he was in the world and sin but has the map to hope being the Gospel/Bible. And even though he came to the shore and has the map it is still a struggle. The old dark self will send you in circles and push you into your mind and the past, but you got to keep fighting. So I love the Christian message hidden throughout this as well as so many of this other ones. So the part about listening to what you're heart says. This is a few things for me as a Christian. So yes, the heat is deceitful. So that's a concern because NF is Christian and I know he knows better than this. But this is also an outreach. So it's a bit of a tact to say this. But the law of God is written in our hearts. We all have a sense of Justice and Love. And to the so many people with a broken heart who listens to NF he is wanting everyone to take a look at the heart as a whole. And I am sure he will talk about the heart in this album. But as for listening to our heart as success is very weird and doesn't make sense. Because our heart goes around in circles deceiving itself. So to me its the worst line of the song but also the most tactful line of the song. He is doing 5 things here. 1 He is drawing in the general secular audience because this is their definition on success. 2 He is telling people that the answer is kinda in our heart because we have the law and sense of Justice and right and wrong. 3 He is also talking to alot of people who are broken hearted. Who's heart says success is when I get better. So he is telling the broken hearted to look at their heart. 4 Just making sure we will remember how he mentioned about the heart for this album. So when you think of all the ways all the different people will see this it's not so bad. 5 I wasn't sure about this until I saw another christian comment see it this way. God gives us certain gifts and certain burden/calling in our hearts. Mine is to fix people to help them so deeply. Even someone at church who I don't really know was walking by me and had to stop and talk to me because God told her that I am one of his warriors and that I will fix people. And that is what I do. And so NF is listing to what God put on his heart. So yeah many ways to look at it. But Its ok. NF is doing so good. I also have another big comment ready to go for when you guys react to Motto lol.

Why do we listen to music? It’s to get us through the rough times and something we can relate too!! But so often, some of us have an out, so we don’t have to relate or go through what we are actually going through!! So we can’t relate to the sentiment!! We live in a world that’s lost, hurt and suffering!! That’s where his passion comes from!!! We would probably all respect it, if the easy path was pulled from us!!

Do you know what I think is wrong with the society I don’t. I wish nobody get mad everybody’s too used to being in darkness always want to be macho never showing enough feelings, the whole purpose of I think and the music is the lead people understand that everybody’s not perfect. It’s all right to hurt. It’s a right to look for answers, we need to change the ways that we are living and a lot of people don’t want it that’s why a lot of people don’t understand the songs in the music louder people still cool with the brainwashing of booty popping in Twerkin a music about selling drugs and drilling. But when music come out, there is positive, trying to have people change the way they think for the good and maybe even think about talking to the Lord everybody has a way like the true demon inside them don’t want them to change. 1st off, HipHop and Rap is TRULY two different Genres. 1975 Underground til 1979 Sugarhill Gang Put HipHop on Vinyl. Since 1979 til Present, 90% Of MCs Writing has been Bitches, Killing, Shooting, Pimping, Drinking, Flossing, Smoking, and the like. How many ways can you write about the same shit? Over 45 years of Same Topics but said in different words. Now days Beats with Words of NO SUBSTANCE is Hot.😢 I'm in my 50s and I am like Marshall when it comes to studying Mcs. Rakim, Daddy Kane, KRS, KOOL G RAP, Big Pun, ectera Started that Flow that Marshall has Mastered and Beyond. NF ( inspired by Shady) In 13 years as an ARTIST ( NOT RAPPER) Has Not Recorded a single Profane Word, Inspires, educates, Teaches, and Preaches, REALLIFE( not studio banging) reallife Mental, Emotional, Intellectual, Physiological everyday Things The Planet deals with. You would probably understand more, if you all listened to “motto” by NF…and stop following the industry, and the next song to bob your head too!! Music is more than a beat, it’s about substance!! If we can’t appreciate that, then why do we make it? Only to be criticized, cause your neck and body aint moving? We can all make a catchy beat, and Nf has proved that, he just likes and loves substance, a message in his music!! More people love music because of the beat, and never stop and actually take in the message!!!

The only reason why you can't ride around playing his music is because you are used to listening to the cursing, drugs reference.

It’s also possible that someone just isn’t an NF fan (or a fan of this kind of sound) but sure, every non-NF fan only listens to explicit music with drug references 🤓

This was a “reaction”? Y’all spoke over the lyrics, paid no attention to the build in story line, just commented on aesthetic. Do it justice or don’t do it at all. Just sayin.
