Yes, their name came from the car. Their dad was into cars. The La Gárgola album was mostly inspired by horror movies and tv shows. One of their heavier albums. Hollywood is always saying “I didn’t know he could do that” when he hears CheVelle. They have so many different songs, aggressive and melodic. I think you have to hear “Family System” or “Forfeit” next, but I love any CheVelle I can get. Love the reaction!

The purpose of the beak shaped mask was that the doctors would put dried flowers, herbs and spices to give a sweet smell to counteract the bad smell of the air. Few beefs in metal - Limp Bizkit vs Creed, Kid Rock vs Tommy Lee, Metallica vs Napster, Nirvana vs Pearl Jam.

🦋 I loved the Dinosaur Jawbreakers when I was Little. And Jolly Ranchers have Always been a Favorite. What a great Start to this day. All the songs on this album is fire. My Favorite is "Take Out The Gunman" Awesome Reaction Guys! Now I must go listen to more Chevelle. As for Those plague masks. The beak was the area they packed to put sweet herbs, spices,& flowers. For them to breath instead of the infected air.

As you are learning, Chevelle has a very diverse sound from album to album, song to song, but always sound like Chevelle. Can't remember if you have yet but do "So Long Mother Earth" off their new album N.I.R.A.T.I.A.S (Nothing is Real and this is a Simulation). It will take you to another world.

My Doodes, the mask was used to prevent airborne infections, and the beak it had was to be filled with aromatic plants to facilitate the doctors breathing. Apparently the people dying from the black plague, of which were a lot, decomposed and (hooba)stank incredible bad. So the doctors picking them up usually wore the mask, which became almost an equivalent with the face of death.

The nose was a spacer, to keep the wearer from getting too close, I think. Kinda makes sense for how they thought back then. We may never know why it's there. I used to think it was for a scary bird creature and that part held his beak. Maybe they just weren't good designers way back when. I've never broken my jaw but, I crushed my skull once. The piece in the middle of the cracks got pushed down and made suction with my brain sac. At all times, I am 1 mm from instant death. And yet, I live on.

This is maybe my least favorite Chevelle album, but it still has great songs on it. Chevelle is just constantly competent at writing cool songs, but I can't say what my favorite Chevelle song is. They don't really have masterpiece songs, just a bunch of great rocks songs. Check out "Mexican Sun", "Emotional Drought", or "Closure"...just 3 random great Chevelle songs off the top of my head.

Always had a fear of choking on a jawbreaker so I wasn’t a fan either. And watermelon jolly ranchers may be the grossest candy ever. I will not apologize for that statement 😆 GNR eventually made up with Dave Grohl at least. They are friends now.
