Great reaction. "Little Sunshine" was a reference of famous satanist, Aleister Crowley, where he was quoted as saying "The Beast 666' only means 'sunlight.' You can call me 'Little Sunshine." The cover of Ghost's latest album is based on a famous photo of Crowley as well. Your Trent Reznor comparison is good. Tobias is the main songwriter, and records most of it himself, with some help. His touring band is separate, and he uses up to 8 musicians for the tour.

Don't think that it's a reference to him saying that. Morning Star is one name of Satan. And that's likely what Crowley was refering to. So I think Ghost also took it from christian scriptures

the names of different demons are used in a lazy way to just identify Satan by your average Christian. Asmodeus, Belial, Behemoth, Mephistopheles, Beezlebub, Agares, Vasargo, Barabos, Gusion, etc there are tons of Princes of Hell and levels of hell through religion and folklore. The Angel Lucifer became Satan, the other names are not actually him, they are powerful demons in their own right.

Lucifer seems to have just been one of many names picked up in his personification. It is all very muddled due to language and cultural barriers.

There was different sects like in modern day religions(cults). Mixing Babylonian/Akkadian myths and Gnostic Hebrew(when Judaism was Polytheistic) Samael and Halel(Attar) where mixed together. And Christ consciousness was taken from Eastern “religion”(spirituality) mixed with Egyptian(Kemetic), Greek and the other religions already mentioned when Rome took over part of the Middle East and recreated Judaism and created Christianity. And then created the Antichrist and named him Jesus.

@@DefinitelyNotBender Not sure what you mean by "recreate," but Rome certainly didn't create Judaism. Judaism as it mostly exists today began at least a hundred years before the Roman Republic, and it's early versions were somewhere around 11- 1200 BCE (Yawism). I guess you could argue the Romans "created" Christianity because they dealt a mortal blow to many of the lesser known sects of Christianity by popularizing the ancestor of the version that exists today, but Christianity as an offshoot of Judaism existed a couple hundred years before that. I do need to know what your sources are, because this odd version seems like a lot of fun. At first I thought maybe Muslim, since they believe Christian scripture is corrupted, but calling Jesus the antichrist basically ends that possibility. And ftr, that you call Jesus the antichrist I find interesting, since, while I don't believe in God, if I did, I would imagine him as the villain - a tyrant - and the devil as a warrior fighting against him for justice and reason over tyranny and ignorance (and yes, I'm aware the "accuser/tempter" usually considered the devil by Christians is just another servant of god in Judaism).

Before Satan was cast out of Heaven, he was the greatest of all the angels, most loved by God, and he was called Lucifer which meant the "Morning Star" due to how brightly he shone. I would think the name Little Sunshine is in reference to that. Ghost is nothing if not clever lol

Apart from the obvious (This IS Ghost, after all), the most Bad Ass aspect of this vid..? is that whole 1920's vibe. (If you Gentlemen have ever had the pleasure of watching that series "Carnival" on HBO back in the day, you'll know *EXACTLY* what I mean!) That period of time, not unlike in it's way, the mid to late 1960's to '70's was a time when absolutely NOTHING was certain, let alone stable - It was Chaos. And it was beautiful. Sinister and twisted, yes - but beautiful. And that..? is what Ghost is all about; Making the Sinister look too alluring to ignore. You guys, as always, *ROCK!*

Hey guys! Comparing Tobias to Trent Reznor is a very apt observation. Several years ago, a bunch of the band members tried to sue Tobias, feeling they were owed for some contributions. (This was how Tobias's identity was revealed yo the world, i thing) But it was revealed that he IS the band, and anyone else are technically "hired players". (Oh, and he has always been the singer - he just changes stage identities on each album/tour) And wait until you hear "Kaisarion", off the new album - that one is VERY "musical church", to me. Haha. All of the singers have been Tobias Forge, playing as different characters. But the live band members have all always been anonymous, so nobody really knows who they've all been.

I've been following Ghost since 2010 and it's been pretty easy finding out who the Nameless Ghouls are if you're interested and do a little online researching. There have been over 20 different Nameless Ghouls since the beginning.

Those are just tour musicians. Guys hired to perform live shows. Tobias writes and creates all the music himself in the studio and hires guys to dress up and perform live.

There have been guys here and there who've claimed to have been part of the Ghouls who actually weren't- primarily around lawsuit time back in 2018 when it could be used for headlines, and by private attorneys to gum up the works and slow the process down. There's been people who've claimed to be stage performers when they were actually just drum or guitar techs for a few weeks on a certain continent in a world tour using it to draw attention to their own bands and side projects. It's actually kind of a mess when it comes to the identities of the real Nameless Ghouls, honestly.

Also before the lawsuit it was pretty much a consistent line up with guitarist Martin Persner writing songs and co writing with Tobias. Tobias also has studio musician Klas Ahlund helping out with the writing process.

I think the Ghouls are a great image, just not a fan of possibly screwing over obviously talented musicians. Hopefully they are being fairly compensated for their time, at least.

My perception for the video is that it’s about deception. You have the lady in the train car moving uphill, Mephistopheles severs the car from the train and it roars downhill. Before a crash, the train car is then saved by the same being that severed the car and now she follows him as a savior because she is unaware that Mephistopheles is responsible for the whole event. Also, Ghost has a new album coming out tonight! "Twenties" is one of the currently available singles on KZbin! But, "Year Zero" is one of my favorite pieces! As for the history of Ghost, you can go super far into it, but the cliff-notes version is that Mr. Tobias Forge is the lead vocalist and writer. Each of the Papa Emeritus characters are played by Tobias himself, he also played the character of Cardinal Copia, whom is now Papa Emeritus IV. When it comes to writing music, he (at least at one point) wrote and recorded each song almost exclusively by himself, including the instruments. He then went on tour performing "Rituals" with traveling Ghouls that changed each tour; but, as of late, he seems to have the same Ghouls AND Ghoulettes (which is awesome, because they rock, I just saw my first Ritual a couple weeks ago)! As for whether or not Tobias subscribes to Satanism, he says he does not, he likes the theatrical aspect and the "gimmick" of it, he related it to his love of horror when growing up. I'd completely recommend checking out more of Ghost's discography! Sorry for the long paragraph and if any other Trash Talkin' Ghost fans want to add or correct anything, feel free to do so! If you guys are interested in doing a longer video, Ghost just premiered a 17 minute, 4 song live-stream (6 songs with KZbin Premium) Ritual here on their KZbin Channel, it features 4 of their new songs in celebration of their new album, "Impera". But, whatever y'all do next, I'll be tuning in, stay awesome guys!

Mephistopheles is the demon sent by Satan to make a deal with Faust, in the famous German folktales. Little Sunshine, in addition to being taken from a quote from Aleister Crowley, is possibly a reference to Lucifer, whose name means "Bringer/Bearer of Light" (also called "Son of the Morning").

I've heard you two comment on his vocals and I can explain why you love them so much. Tobias when he sings, he records multiple tracks of himself singing different harmonies and then he layers them in almost all his tracks. If you listen closely you'll hear it in almost everything now.

This song will definitely grow on you. It's honestly probably technically speaking (like in song technicality and like instrumentation wise) probably their best song to date. Everything in it Is on a different level for ghost in this song specifically though. I only like their first 3 singles from their new album and I'm not really feeling the rest of the songs just because they're very like hair metal poppy stadium rock type of songs. But that's just something that's personal to me. Alot of people are loving the new album but for me personally most of it besides twenties, sunshine, and hunters moon is just not my thing. But I applaud them for being ambitious and doing something very different.

Ok tobias is the lead singer playing the rolls of the different papa's and cardinal copia which is now papa emeritus 4...the nameless ghouls do switch out at times the new album which this song is off of has a guitarist I believe from opeth and I think from what I've heard at least the female backing vocals is supposed to be tobias daughter but I'm not 100 on that part but back in the day he was sued by four former members but yeah the only person that is og from the beginning is tobias

Hi guys! You rock! This song is their best so far - in my lil sunshine opinion.. Check out DISTURBED's cover of "Midlife Crisis" from the Lost Children album. And for a great, more deep & mellow tune, their song "Uninvited Guest" from their Evolution album. David's awesome voice again! 🎼🎶🤘🥀 Keep Rockin. P.S. The whole devil thing? Many rock bands have done that over time. Some are actually Satanists (Marylin Manson) but most are not.. Its a whole dark thing & for some reason, younger fans are attacted to that. The rebelious thing i guess. How many metalheads does it take to screw in a lightbulb? None. They embrace the darkness, lol!
