I recommend "Dance Macabre" and "Cirice" by Ghost. And all the other stuff. 😉 They are really great and very versatile. And Tobias has a very special voice.

Don't worry about the Satan stuff, it's their gimmick and main theme through which they satirize and criticize the church and archaic social norms. Tobias, the mastermind behind the band is, in cact, oretty atheistic, or at least agnostic. Little Sunshine is actually a nickname used by Aleister Crowley, this is what the song hints at.

Well yeah, and even in them the Satanism is used as a tool for a deeper message, in Year Zero there is an existential and cynical analysis of the human condition masked as a hymn to the dark lord and Monstrance Clock is, and this is official, a feminist song which emphasizes female liberation from prudish traditions of the church and society

@@24fretsoffury That doesn’t necessarily mean that the song was written as a serious satanic psalm, dude. It’s perfectly fine for _you_ to interpret it that way, but Tobias for his part almost certainly wasn’t actually invoking Satan in order to destroy the world and wipe humanity from existence.

He's Swedish. It's very rare to find religious people here. If you meet a religious person here it's mostly a freshly immigrated person who is a Muslim. We are Christians by tradition not by believes. But atheists can have a fascination for Christianity, it's god and devil, just as a Christian can have a fascination for Greek mythology without believing it's real.

This is the first time I have seen one of your vids.... I like what seems to be your primarily mono tone voices and dry hummer.... You two are funny.... Im a proud atheist myself and a huge Ghost fan... Ghost is very tongue in cheek.. There is a whole lore and fictional back story with the band, if you can even call Ghost a band... But if it wasn't so tongue in cheek and you really had motive to spread the word of Satan.. A good melody and a catchy course would be the way to do it...

You MUST react to more of these guys. You GOTTA. They’re such a good band, especially live. If you can react to a video of them performing something live, like their recent Kimmel performance or the livestreamed show they did before their latest album dropped, you really oughta. I’ll watch it for sure. As for songs to recommend, for you two who aren’t familiar I’d recommend “From The Pinnacle To The Pit,” “Rats,” “Ritual,” “Year Zero,” (must stress for that one specifically not to be too put off by the Satan shtick; it’s no more real than a horror movie. It’s just for the theatrical value) “Spillways,” (I recommend you react to the Live from the Mausoleum performance of that song) and “Cirice.” Hell, anything in their catalogue is fair game. They’ve yet to disappoint.

It's not satanic....its all a metaphor and theatrical, Mephistopheles is a lesser demon who is responsible for collecting the corrupt souls. He is using it as a metaphor for his love for a woman....nothing will stop him from always loving her and being there for her.

Tobias Forge told Metal Hammer that: It’s the Devil, basically, speaking to the little person in front of his or her computer or in their little room, calling out for them, “I’m always here for you.” In this context, it’s not a good thing. Of course, meaning is subjective in art, but when you go around touting your interpretation as the true meaning and acting as though everyone else is some kind of moron I think we have already moved past that.
