One of the dancers in the video wrote a really good blog in response to the negative reviews of the video. She talked about how the girls were treated with the utmost respect and how happy they all were to be there and how the ladies came from all aspects of society, from exotic dancing to classical ballet dancers.

What I love about this video is that it combines the kind of imagery you see in a regular metal video, but also has the big booty dancers, it makes for a funny contrast. Brann is the name of the drummer; the funny thing is that after they learned how to sing, the other members of the band joke about how good Brann's voice is and how they fear he's so talented he's gonna pull a Phil Collins and leave them to go solo. Everybody but the rhythm guitarist does lead and backing vocals, it just depends on the song.

For more Mastodon, I'd say check out "Ghost of Karelia" off of 'Crack the Skye.' For a completely different band (and one that really needs to get more love than they do) that has the drummer doing the singing, check out Brutus. They're from Belgium, and Stefanie Mannaerts has one Hell of a voice. I'd suggest starting with "War", then checking out "Fire" (both from their recent album, 'Nest').

Great intro to the band. Mastodon is THE most famous sludge band. Check out blood and thunder, mother puncher, scorpion breath, crystal skull, march of the fire ants, steam breather, I am ahab, the hunter, the sparrow. Cant go wrong with any of those. Great content guys

I know its a long ride, but starting with their first album and working your way through to the last (cronical order) you hear them grow and evolve with each album. its amazing to hear where they started and how they ended where they are now! Mastodon’s bassist is from Atlanta/ATL area, lead guitarist is from Alabama, drummer and rhythm guitarist are from upstate NY. It’s funny cuz the NY guys have twangs but their vocals are death growly (guitarist) and clean, ozzy Osborne-ish (drummer) and then the guys from the south, their speaking voices are twangless but their vocals have kind of a southern twist on them
