Something to keep in mind with this performance, about four weeks before this performance, she underwent successful breast cancer surgery. She was back on the road touring South America two weeks after surgery. She took a few weeks off in January for radiation therapy and now she is about four to five months pregnant, touring Asia with Nightwish. She should win your frontman/frontwoman contest on sheer toughness alone.

More likely 3 to 4 months. The surgery was when they came back from America, than within 3 weeks they did the European tour. Than radiation therapy in January and just now they did the Asian tour. Than in April Floor her solo shows in the Netherlands. May in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

​@@bettymajoor Ya, I should never trust my senior citizen memory when I write these posts. I was thinking the Americas was Nov. instead of Oct. According to the announcement, the surgery was October 27th, 2022 and they were back on the road for the next concert on Nov 20th in Belgium. Allowing time for a hospital stay, rehearsals (if any) and travel time to Belgium, she didn't have a lot of rest time in between.

Actually since Beste Zangers it's the other way around. He made her promise to let him sing with them when they came there. He has pretty much hooked on to her star now. She has invited him to all her shows, I think we could allow her a little more than fangirling at this point in her career. This all has infused his later in life career.

Floor, in Dutch, is a variant of the latin word Florens, to flower, to be charming. It shares that root with the word flora, for all plants. She does have a sister, called Irene.

Floor saw Henk in POTO when she was a girl and he became one of her childhood hero's. She was asked to appear on a Dutch TV show called Beste Zangers which she agreed to do because Henk was on it. They did a duet of POTO but Henk only agreed to do it if he could do the POTO with Nightwish next time they were in the Netherlands. Then came Lockdown and this show was the keeping of that promise.

Floor is a Dutch variant of the Latin name Flora. Floor means “flower” (from Latin “flos”).

Yeah those are all people. I was there as well. A sold out Ziggo Dome holds about 17K people. They played 2 nights there consecutively, both nights were sold out.

This promise was made in Beste Zangers TV show , that he will sing this song with Floor and Nightwish, when they come to the Netherlands. And this song was a surprise to the fans. Nightwish performed this song last time 17 years ago with Tarja, and now the circle is complete... And that Crowd Roar, when Henk walked on stage, wearing Official "Nightwish Family" T-shirt, but that Floor's last note... it was insane 12,2 sec. Floor is with ease the best vocalist of her time. What sets her apart is her dynamic voice. If you listen closely you can hear her shifting her voice to convey the story. Here she switches from classical to contemporary multiple times and som times she even goes back and forth in one phrase. Another thing that sets her apart from other singers is her intelligent use of her voice. In this song she holds back when she does those long notes at the end. Normally there are more force in those notes. But she homds off until that final note when she uses full power and all the air that she’s got in those gigantic lungs to give us a 13 second sustained D6 if I’m not mistaken.

Ah, Motown. My wife and I were at the premiere of The Wiz in L.A. During which time, my wife encountered Diana Ross and asked for her autograph. Not having a pen, she asked Ross if she had one. To which the Diva replied archly, "Do you think I carry a pen around with me?" Never got the autograph...but I got some nice film. And the movie was fun, too. All the Motown folk were there, of course.

No match for Floor tho, or even her younger sister Irene who's indeed the ceiling since she towers over Floor by half an inch ;) Zack's perfectly fine (tho somewhat one-dimensional) as a front for 'rebellion', but as a singer not fit to tie Floor's laces, as a performer not a shadow of our Valkyrie Goddess and as a vehicle for any kind of emotion not within one hundred leagues of our Lady of Empathia. No competition whatsoever 😎 We were present at that twice sold-out Ziggo Dome concert btw, first evening, when the anticipation of "Uncle Henk" appearing was several orders of magnitude above the second show (this video). They first sang this together in Beste Zingers. Check it out, it's amazing. Floor was recovering from cancer treatment in this version and she couldn't hit the last note. The tv show version is better in that regard. It doesn't feature Nightwish, though.

Hey guys! Actually, this isn't a homage to Tarja or anything like that. What this is, is a promise kept to Henk Poort during Beste Zangers, that if Nightwish ever performed in the Ziggodrome, in Amsterdam, that he would duet with Floor. And by the way, think about this: Without Henk playing the Phantom in the 1990s, Floor would have never become a professional singer. So we have him to thank for Floor becoming who she is today! In other words: A promise made, has now become a promise kept. And because I'm a chess nerd, and this fits: Queen to D6. Checkmate. (For 11 seconds, no less!) Edit: "Floor," by the way guys, means "Flower" in Dutch. And, Floor has a sister, Irene, who not only looks like Floor, but has sang with her onstage before! Lastly, interesting tidbit: Floor was actually at her sister's wedding back in 2012, when Tuomas called her and asked if she could be Nightwish's lead vocalist because of what happened to Annette. Basically, Irene is the reason why Floor didn't join the band right away, as she waited a week before calling Tuomas back and accepting singing for Nightwish.

Henk Poort is a legendary theater and musical star in the Netherlands and played the phantom many times in the dutch version of the musical. He was one of Floor's music heroes when she grew up! They met each other for the TV show "Beste Zangers" and performed Phantom and some other songs together. And just for her, he sang a part of Phantom with a more raspy voice, which was normally a no-go for him. They had such a good chemistry that Floor asked him to perform as guest with Nightwish on their tour in the Netherlands, which he agreed.

I just wanted to say thanks for your content guys. I'm in the beginning stages of recovery. I had some kind of virus pneumonia but I didn't know. Long story short I ended up in the ER with heart failure and I'm only 38. Luckily my prognosis is very positive as long as I do everything correctly. The story is that both were in the season 2019 TV show Beste Zangers and the duet episode they did this song by the wish of Floor. Henk agreed but with the condition to do the song when Nightwish was in the country. And so recently they were and Floor kept her promise.

These 2 shows where awesome, first night front row standing in front of Henk, the second night sitting next to Johanna (Toumas partner) Also saw them in Antwerp, I recorded Sleeping Sun, where Floor got emotional at the end. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j16Qh3qkgpWaqq8 This was the first performance after her surgery. The Phantom of the Opera is one of my favorite Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber musicals, I really love Tarja's performance, and this performance by Floor is just as powerful. However, you should also consider listening to the original singer Sarah Brightman. There is even a slightly "rock" version she performs and a video for it as well.

Cape Fear is amazing, Smokey!! Robert DeNiro, Nick Nolte and especially Juliette Lewis were phenomenal in it. Plus, it was directed by Martin Scorsese. I’m surprised as a Horror Fan that you haven’t seen it. I highly suggest watching it. It’s the epitome of “Cult Classic”. Also, I’ve always loved this song since I first watched Phantom of the Opera randomly as kid. No matter the version of the song.

The film you are talking about was a remake of the original 1962 Cape Fear (which is also good) with Robert Mitchum and Gregory Peck as Max and Sam respectively. That version was based on the 1957 book The Executioners by John D. MacDonald. Not sure where you got Stephen King from, though the 1962 film had inspiration from Alfred Hitchcock. I do agree that it is an amazing song, and I have yet to find a cover that I did not enjoy listening to. My first exposure to POTO (my favorite musical) was a Wishbone episode, and now I feel old. 😅
