Pantera was so amazing live!!! I saw them 5 times I believe. First show the venue was packed! I literally was hanging on the bar so I wouldn't get crushed! That was 1991...I also was privileged enough to have met Dimebag and Rex in 1995 at the Mid Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. super nice guys!!! Saw them for the last time in 1999 at Ozzfest at SPAC in Saratoga, N.Y. when the Dime played the first note of "Walk", the crowd lost their minds!!! Everyone rushed towards the stage!!! Epic concert!!!!

I have been lucky enough to see Pantera live twice and while their pits were the most intense and extreme I have ever been in, there was NEVER any actual fighting. Plenty of injuries definitely, but NEVER any malice. Back then that was truly frowned upon, if you tried to start something you were more than likely gonna get jumped on by everyone else there. In a pit, you slammed into each other wildly, throwing your friends at strangers, strangers slamming into you, but if anyone went down the whole pit pushed back automatically and pulled you up and away you go again. Metalheads are really nice people at heart, honest 😆🤘😆

Finally some Pantera it’s been a while, I recommend listening to Drag The Waters by Pantera the music video it’s from the band’s fourth album The Great Southern TrendKill. Fun Fact about this song PISS. The band recorded it in 1992 during the recordings the band’s second album Vulgar Display Of Power. But the band decided not to release it. But in 2012 it was the 20th anniversary of Pantera’s second album Vulgar Display Of Power so Vinnie Paul the drummer and Dimebag’s brother decided to release it at that time. And right now it’s one of Pantera’s biggest songs.

The punches in the face are a nod to the cover of their vulgar display of power album...i ve been to dozens of metal festivals and ive never seen an actual fight or commotion between fans...the agression is released towards the music and yourself not towards other fellow members of the metal community...everytime a guy falls in the moshpit is picked up...

Same here. Although I have seen fightpits to hatebreed from up on a verge at Download. That was mental and glad I got out of the crowd before hatebreed started. What you said about picking up those who fall in a pit is part of the pit etiquette. Not the fist flailing round house kicking beatdown shit, I've seen people targeting peeps on the edge of the pit and heard someone getting chucked out of a gig for retaliating after being singled out by those doing the beatdown. Yeah it's expected to get the accidental elbow, back of someone's head or boot in the face. That's kinda the rough and tumble of being in a pit. Many people are surprised that no one flail their fists in pits to cannibal corpse or any other death metal and grindcore bands. When it does happen it gets shut down straight away by those in the crowd before it ruins everyone's fun.

Hollywood.... there is definitely a way around having to piss but I wouldn't recommend it nor would I EVER wish it on anyone. Get kidney disease and go on dialysis! I was pissing just fine and normally when I started in March of 2004 and within less than 2 years, dialysis had completely taken over what kidney function I had left and I haven't pissed in about 18 years! 🤷🏻‍♂️
