Another great reaction! I'm a musician who's been around since the 1950's. In recent years I made a list of favorite bands and artists, including Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, Rush, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, Porcupine Tree, etc. I just heard Ren for the first time about a month ago, went down the Ren rabbit hole, and put Ren in my favorite artists list. I was into old school rap in 1980's/'90's, even saw Public Enemy in concert--and for me Ren ties the old school sound together with the current sound. But he's also a great musician and songwriter. His song "Crucify Your Culture" gives me Rage Against the Machine vibes. Man, I can't say enough about him! 😳

"Losing It" was a huge hit for EDM DJ/producer Fisher across Europe in summer 2018. Don't get me wrong, Ren could come up with something in a similar vein, but more interesting than this, himself if he decided he wanted to - this is a pretty generic house track which could easily have come out of the clubs in the '90s.... but this one *is* Fisher's track with Ren rapping over it & some fun little tweaks. Hence Ren calls it one of his "rap re-takes" of a well-known (at least over here in the UK / Europe) track. ;)

My favorites from him so far are Hi Ren, Sick Boi, and his Tales Trilogy (Jenny, Screech, and Violet). Ren didn't make the original beat on this song it's a remix of a track called losing it by Fisher which was a massive dance music hit over here in Europe. Ren any time he raps over someone else's track he calls it a retake some time's he remixes the track other times he uses the original track with the original mix. It's a credit to Ren as a producer that people can't tell the difference between stuff he has fully produced and stuff he has remixed when they haven't heard the original songs. He even has a bar in this track that tells you it's a remix "I'm fuckin' it up like I made it Sometimes stuck in a rut but I break it Come twice, busting a nut, you can't fake it" most people miss it because of the rule lines after it.
