Slipknot can take you there through an entire live set. Go see them. You won't regret it. I saw them on their first tour, and have seen them too many times after that to count. Shook hands in OKC with them, and got to be around some of them multiple other times. This song is a reworked and sped-up version of the song 'Slipknot', that the band took their name from. That song is the first track on the 'Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.' album that came before self-titled. Also I'm glad the video you reacted to had the '742617000027' intro, as that is an integral part of the build-up to the track. Slipknot first started with 5 members. They put out a small album called “Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat” of “MFKR”. They evolved to a group of 9 by the time they released their self titled album “Slipknot” that everyone thinks is their first in 1999. They had already swapped singers to Corey Taylor and he’s been their only singer since. The only 2 members of the 9 from the original 5, were Shawn (the Clown/percussionist) and Paul (the pig/bass player). They also had numbers they all wore or went by as well 0-8. The 9 were 0 - Sid Wilson/The DJ 1 - Joey Jordinson/Drummer 2 - Paul Grey/ Bass Guitar 3 - Chris Fehn/ Percussionist 4 - James Root/ Rhythm Guitar 5 - Craig Jones/ Samples/Keyboard 6 - Shawn Crahan/ Percussionist 7 - Mick Thompson/ Lead Guitar 8 - Corey Taylor/ Lead Vocals They released their 3rd Album (or 2nd as the lineup of 9) called “Iowa” in 2001. 4th album was in 2004 I believe called “Vol.3 The Subliminal Verses”. 5th album was in 2008 and called “All hope is gone”. In 2010, unfortunately, Paul Grey (2) Bass Guitar, passed away. Alessandro “Alex” Venturella joined the band in 2014 to be the new bass player and they released a new album called “.5:The Grey Chapter”. The name was a tribute to Paul Grey who had passed away. I believe Joey Jordinson (1) The Drummer helped record the album but there was a falling out and he left Slipknot and was replaced with Jay Weinberg as the Drummer. They released another album in 2019, called “We Are Not Your Kind” and I’m not sure if before or after that album was released, but (3) Chris Fehn- Percussionist has also left and been replaced by Michael Pfaff also known as the Tortilla Man. I think there’s a new album coming soon.

Slipknot still probably would of made albums and a living but never would of took off like they did without him. Clown is the soul and creativity behind Slipknot. His contributions extend beyond his percussion skill. While just banging on kettle drums in the song he helps write the songs as well.

fact about Sid the DJ, his vocals are on the opener for the Iowa album, "515." He entered the studio after he had just returned from saying a final goodbye to his grandfather who had basically raised him. Producer could see he was obviously in pain so he told him to just scream his heart out into the mic, so he started shrieking "death" and other phrases like "father" like crazy and they mixed it and chopped it up into the opener. the track's already gut wrenching to hear but if it wasn't mixed and edited they said it would be too disturbing to put out. They truly were throwing all their pain and blood into their work.

One of the best shows I have ever experienced, 1999 the Roseland theater. They opened with this song and the place went off. Was amazing. You should check out Purity, Diluted, or eyeless next. That self titled album is amazing start to finish.

This is why I love reactions like this.. you guys are bringing me back 20 years ago when you know this CD first came out and me and my bros are like have you heard this new slip knot band you fire up the CD cuz only one of us has it at the moment and you're sitting in your 1996 Pontiac Grand Prix with some 12's in the back and you put this CD in it and this is the first song and you just go nuts and you're ready to listen to the whole album

Clown is the last original member left. He directs the videos, producer, etc. A lot more than just banging on trash cans. He’s done a lot of stuff on the side too.Including directing a Hollywood Undead video, movies, etc

I used to sing this song all the time at karaoke. It was Slipknot that inspired me to learn how to do a metal scream. This song is one that was remade from the song Slipknot from the Mate.Feed.Kill.Repeat album. For next week's episode, maybe you can take a listen to the song that this one came from. The lyrics are different, as are the tempo, instrumentation, and vocal style. Oh, and I believe the line, "The whole thing, I think it's sick" is a sample from a documentary about Charles Manson.

That's actually not only "(sic)", but also "742617000027", they are the first 2 tracks on the album, with "742617000027" being kinda like the intro to "(sic)" (with the sampled vocals going "the whole thing I think it's sick", sampled from a documentary about the Manson Family). "742617000027" was the bar code on their first CD, "Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat", which also appeared on their original jumpsuits.
