I havent seen a comment yet with this info, but its probably thee somewhere. In case its not, Albert Hofmann was the first person to synthesize and ingest LSD. He first felt effects after absorbing a small amount through his fingertips on April 16th 1943. 3 days later on 4/19/43 (yes, the day before 4/20) he intentionally ingested 250 micrograms. He began to feel the effects on his bicycle while riding home after work. 4/19 is also known as "bicycle day" among people who try psychedelics, or at least know this story. There's more than a few drug references in these tracks - first off, "blame Hoffmann" (the secondary title to Lost Keys) refers to the man who discovered the LSD molecule. Then there's "X, yogi DMT and a box of Krispy Kremes" during the opening ramble on Rosetta, later followed by "Dead Head chemistry, blotter got right on top of me" (Grateful Dead fans, legendary for psychedelics, plus reference to blotter tabs), then later "see, The Dead ain't touring" - another GD reference, maybe our tripper trying to claim to the doctor that he's sober now or even that he hadn't taken anything (forgetting that he already admitted to it earlier)

The word that comes to mind is immersive. Their albums are one big piece of art. Listening to it all together gives you the whole experience. I had to pause and go read the Wikipedia page for the Rosetta Stone. I also never looked it up and knew it was some old ass stone. Now I get it. I'm just lazy sometimes but I shouldn't be. It took me 1 min to understand the basic idea of it and how people use the term as well. Anyways, Wikipedia made it so I had to know what other shit meant like decree. I'm good now. I got a good idea now. Definitely seems like it was the biggest deal when it was found. To be able to finally start understanding Ancient Egyptian and deciphering it is definitely something huge which lead to other findings.

One of the things that I really feel with this song, is that it musically makes you feel the frustration of the character. I can feel the frustration with the instruments, the blurriness and speed of his voice, coinciding with the character being so close to the answer/meaning of whatever, so close, and yet he forgot to write it down. Kinda tongue in cheek, but you can still feel it. This is another song of theirs that Maynard's voice really feels more like an instrument, an equal portion of the song to the drums, guitar, and bass. I love this song, I was waiting for this. Glad you dug it!

Not for nothing else, but this one, Right in Two, and a couple others, make for interesting "stories"...I feel the song not only sounds amazing, but has an interesting "story" of the song. 🤷‍♂️
