At 51 years (1970-2021), ZZ Top holds the record for the longest period with an unchanged lineup of any band in history. Nobody else even comes close. Edit: Billy Gibbons was Lead Guitar and Vocals on most of their songs. Dusty Hill had Bass, but also did Vocals on some of their songs. Frank Beard (the one WITHOUT a beard 😁) was on drums. Other songs by ZZ Top include: 'Legs,' 'Tush,' 'Sharp Dressed Man,' and 'Waiting On the Bus/Jesus Left Chicago.'

Part of that story is they did some shows together and ZZ would cover Jimi songs before Jimi went on stage. They would hang out in the hotel room and trade guitar licks and listen to records.

Bluesy rock or southern rock fits ZZ Top to a tee. Lagrange was the first song that broke them through on radio. I heavily recommend their songs from the 70s. Heard it on the X, Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers, Tush, Cheap Sunglasses are just a handful of great tracks. Short, simple, catchy, bluesy awesomeness, most of their songs are no longer than three minutes. If you love ZZ, check out George Thorogood- move it on over or one bourbon one scotch one beer.

ZZ Top was a Texas blues band until the 80's when they "borrowed" (long story) some songs from a friend of the band and they became a string of blues-influenced pop songs which made the band rich beyond their wildest dreams and sold millions of copies worldwide. Listen to songs from the album "Fandango" or "Tres hombres." The house near La Grange is a bordello.

Hey, guys! Y'all will have to forgive me, I've only viewed a handful of your videos, but HAVE thoroughly enjoyed each one! Love the reactions! On a totally different note, I thought I heard you say "not our La Grange", or something to that effect. Anyway, just wondering if the reference was to La Grange, GA? And remember, I did state being quite new to your content, so, I ask if y'all are from Georgia? I reside in Rome, GA and have done so ALL fifty-four years of my life! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE being a DAWGS and Braves fan!! I've had wonderful experiences getting to catch some (alot) of the Braves big (HUGE) talents right here in my semi-small hometown, way before they've hit "The Show" in Atlanta, as Rome is home to the High-A Braves farm team. Also, I'm even prouder of the fact I was actually blessed enough to have seen HERSCHEL live, in person, many times over the course of his UNMATCHED three years playing between The Hedges, all those decades ago! I sometimes still cannot believe the great fortune I had for THE GREATEST running back in NCAA football history play for my beloved UGA Bulldogs! Okay, I'm finally shutting up now! So sorry, but I just simply find myself getting carried away when discussing my DAWGS and Braves. Oops! 🥺 Once again, new fan and looking forward to more great stuff! Keep it up and I wish you both well!! 😊

Nice reaction. ZZ Top is a great group to get into. Songs about a strip joint kind of place. You notice he never talks about the drinks or anything else but the girls at the place. Tells you all you need to know about the place outside of La Grange. The place was small as he called it a shack. Still gets you feeling like I want to go. He made it sound cool. Think about this too. He said it was 10 to get in. That was a large amount back then. 10 to get into a shack. Hmm a love shack baby. lol You know what's going on in that place. Hmm hmm hmm. Fun tune. Great driving music too. Most of their songs are. You'll see.

It was The Chicken Ranch outside of La Grange between Austin and Houston. The movie The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas in the 80's was based on the stories from there. Some friends found some rememnants of the buildings in the mid-2000's. One time driving to Houston from Austin the song La Grange came on Sirius as I passed the sign for the turn off to the town. Mark Knopfler was trying for a ZZ Top type tone when he hit on the sound for Money for Nothing. Billy Gibbons is beast, he was 24 when they wrote this, that gravel up in his voice is all natural

Billy Gibbons playing on this song kills. I play guitar in a blues band. It took me awhile to learn the lead on this one.
