Yes they are REAL!!! These 3 men personify Texas rock music!!! They have been around since 1969 and they have never looked back. They have a huge catalog of amazing songs that many people have not heard unless you are a big fan or go to one of their concerts. Songs like "Legs","I just got paid","Tush", "Give me all your lovin" and my personal favorite "La Grange"!!! They are rock and roll royalty!!!! The bassist passed away in 2021 and they have a new one but Billy Gibbons and Frank Beard are the heart of ZZ TOP!!!

Uncle Billy is probably the best guitarist that ever lived. Jimmy Hendrix even said that when a young 16yr old Billy was on tour with him as the guitarist for psychedelic band called the moving sidewalks. Him and Jimmy would play every chance they could. Jimmy even made sure thére room was side by side while on tour..what a honor. To be called the best by the best..at 16 yrs old .

Britt. The look on your face when the girls get out of the '33 Ford coupe, was the same as every red-blooded American male when this video hit the MTV airwaves back in 1983. Actress Daniele Arnaud and Playboy Playmates arriving on the scene in that car would be a recurring theme in ZZ Top videos for the next few years. And we were very happy to watch the group act to make wishes and dreams come true again and again. For more of these dudes and ladies in action, the video for LEGS must be the next stop. Or you could play TUSH, VELCRO FLY, PIN CUSHION, or THANK YOU. Keep going and enjoy the music.

They always help the underdog in these videos. Despite living in a small apartment this guy gets decked out to go out. He sees a woman that he likes but her rich friends treat him like the valet. ZZ Top and their spirit animals, three hot chicks, come to his rescue. He is granted the only true source of power in a ZZ Top video, keys to the eliminator roadster. They are magically transported somewhere where he can dance with her. Another version of Merlin, The Lady of the Lake, and young Arthur pulling the sword out of the stone.

Hello Britt reacts. I’m one of your new members. My name is NUBBIN. I live in WINONA, Texas. ZZ Top is one of the most famous bands from Texas. They reside around Galveston or Corpus Christi down there and it’s a three piece band was the biggest band in Texas. they had a great sound. They’ve been singing since the 70s, they’re kind of what you call country and rock or easy easy you know whatever but they’re famous and they’re fantastic group I live in a little town of WINONA Texas. It’s about 94 between 92 and 96 miles outside of Dallas off the interstate 20 so their beards are realand Billy Gibbons, the lead guitar player is one of the greatest guitar player all time he can play anything with anybody and put them up under the shade so you be careful you take it easy. In the 1980's when music videos were made for play on MTV, many artists used a recurring theme and the same characters in their videos as kind of a continuing storyline. ZZ Top's three biggest hits of the 1980's used the theme of the underdog and bullied guy getting rescued by scantily clad ladies in the ZZ Top's hot rod they call The Eliminator, which was also the name of their biggest album of the decade.

ZZ Top is so amazing. You must hear Cheap Sunglasses, La Grange and Heard it on the El. They are a Texas band. The beards are real, originally to give them some privacy, and I do believe, created a bit of a mystique back in the day. Some of the best guitar in 70s/80s southern R&R. I don't know if you ever watched "King of the Hill", but Hank's cousin, Dusty Hill, is a member of ZZ Top, and they guest on the show. :)

You should definitely check out more of their videos, which usually see the boys teleporting around, finding some good person in trouble, and sending them help in the forms of an ever-changing trio of lovely ladies bringing their magic with the '34 Eliminator. Welcome (back) to the 80s, When MTV was born and the music video was more of a mini-movie. It had plot, it had character, it practically had a story-line and a script. Where Michael Jackson was king and Madonna was queen and everybody who was anybody in the music biz was putting out music videos on MTV. I didn't see your first run of ZZ Top, but if you showed a live version of an existing 80s video, then YES, you showed the wrong one. With almost no exception, if it is an 80s song, there is a music video for it that really MUST be what you're reacting to. Keep on rockin' and keep on reactin'. Even if you slip a little, we still love what you do, Britt. Keep it real and keep it comin'.

ZZ Top the biggest little band from Texas! They arrived fresh in the sixties.... One has passed and yet they continue... They made and remade themselves over generations .. "ZZ Top - Rough Boy (Official Music Video)" with more special effects. They did a whole concert during lock down.... "ZZ Top - La Grange (Live From Gruene Hall) | Stages" in a private jam. Billy Gibbons on guitar and vocals, Dusty Hill long time bassist now passed, and .. wait for it the only one without a beard is Frank Beard! Elwood Francis the longtime guitar tech for the band stepped in to join. It's still in the ZZ Top family tree.

The thing about ZZ Top is they were a successful Texas blues rock band in the 70s. Big but not that big. Then MTV happens. They decide to embrace it. So they integrate new wave sounds into their thing. Drum machines, synthesizers, etc. in fact, I think Billy is the only one who really played on this record. Beard probably overdubbed some cymbals and fills. I can’t remember any electric bass Anyway, it worked. They made videos and since they weren’t young anymore, they made these more narrative videos in which they’re more observers than anything. Anyhow, this stuff blew up in the early 80s. They were as big as anyone at their peak. Kind of amazing when you think about it. Such an unlikely marriage of style and technology. They were a petty savvy bunch. To have a gimmick but to back it up with legit stuff musically… that’s pretty cool in my book.

The beards, are real. This is ZZ Top of the early 80's when they were one of the bands that ruled early MTV with their music and videos. The song you heard from the Howard Stern show is their first major hit. ZZ Top's music from the 70's has a distinct blues sound, some of it heavy blues. A side note, the growl you hear comes from the lead guitarist Billy Gibbons. Gibbons made guest appearances on the TV series "Bones" where they used the fade in and out from these videos. His character would mystically appear and vanish which kept other characters on the show leary of him. Is that a TFE emblem on your beanie?
