Best part of Raqeeb se, there are no flashbacks of Maqsood saab and sakina's love story and the way they describe their time it just teases our brain cells to imagine that time you know the village the fields the seasons the way they mention. Beautiful writing

I Know Aiza & OKB have a lot of fans, but for me if it wasn't for CBA i would not have started watching Chupke Chupke , which later on i found that it actually is a very very good rom-com, even better than other mainstream dramas ... And i'm glad our CBA debuted in it 👍

Yeah, following CBA and hearing he is making a debut since one year is what got me excited. Teasers before Ramadan pumped me up further. That's why I started to watch it and haven't regretted a single episode. All the characters are so in tune. Unfortunately, they played "Bara banta phirta hai" only once for Fadhi in the first episode which was so funny, and then never again. I wish they play it at his wedding. We can see why he likes Haniya so much. She's perfect wife material and on top of it she ticks Fadhi's checklist. Her smile is so mesmerizing and her first few words were "Mere ander bilkul ego nahi hai". She has even found a way not to be offended by the Gul and gang snooping around.

It was delightful to have been able to watch two back-to-back episodes of Raqeeb Se this week. This drama is getting better with every episode. I thought Episode 14 was really good but Episode 15 took the cake. What brilliant work! Every scene, every nuance, every performance was at the peak. Earlier I was looking forward to the scenes between Maqsood Saab and Sakina but I simply love the moments of friendship between Hajra and Sakina. You can tell that they are genuinely fond of each other and are not faking it. In Episode 14 it was that kitchen scene between the two and in the 15th episode, it was that scene when Sakina said that she couldn't save Mansoor Ahmed but saved Maqsood Saab. Hadiqa Kiani's performance and then Sania Saeed's expressions after that moved me to tears. So beautiful. Beegul's writing is deep and Kashif Nisar has done an outstanding job by bringing out the best in all actors. When the entire team does well, you know that the credit, first and foremost, goes to the captain of the ship. Much as I love the drama, I really look forward to your Friday reviews because I want to know what you think. That's because while there are others who do reviews, there is no one else who understands the nuances and the intricacies of the episode better. The way you dissect and talk about the drama does full justice to the whole team who has worked so hard to bring it to life. Aamna's review of Raqeeb Se is always straight from the heart.

I agree with Amna with the review of tanna banna. Pakistani dramas show the fact that either the woman is overly ambitious or with no ambition at all and both of conditions are so bizarre. Why is no one willing to show basically a balanced woman. Examples to such being chupke chupke and tanna banna. People need to see that women are ambitious and considerate at the same time.

Tana Bana: Zoya looks ungrateful and unladylike, and Zain reminds us of our beloved son with a very attractive physiognomy, who had to fry an egg once and ended up cracking it right into the frying pan drawing everyone's sympathy. But Zain has been pretty disinterested all his life. He hasn't once sat with his mother one on one and asked her what her concerns were before wedding Zoya. Gentlemen usually start their good behavior at home. Smooth-talking their way into long-term commitments is not the way to live life. As Zoya would say, "Aur bhi gham hain zamaane mein mohabbat ke siwa." Abb Zain bhugte. He wouldn't tell his family when Zoya requested him to keep clear because she did not want to marry just then. Instead, he used all the romantic tricks up his sleeve. Now he says he "forgot" to tell them she had some conditions prior to marriage, at the breakfast table as he is caught red-handed. He is the exact lost case who walks out of frustration when it comes to doing right by both mother and wife. He wouldn't read the contract before signing it because "Mere mohabbat ki toheen ho jaye gi". What if more girls started attaching some terms as an addendum to their Nikkah? Getting their demands on paper is what standing up for one's self means. Girls can write, "He has to pray five times wherever he is", "He shouldn't use the phone unless necessary when he is sitting at the dinner table", "No one goes to bed angry", "I won't cook or clean until February." He really didn't know what to do with his life besides pursuing Zoya and keeping her happy. Zain knew that his mother slaves in the kitchen all alone and misses the romance her sister-in-law has with latter's husband. His mother and grandmother pray but he never bothered despite his mother's efforts. Somehow it is also Zain's mother's responsibility to take his father to heaven by dragging him out of bed for morning prayers. Zain's grandmother advocates that this is "achi biwi ki zimmedari" and less to do with upbringing and God-consciousness. How can we complain about Zoya if the men are so basic? Har aurat ko Zoya par hi pehle dinn se ghussa aye ga. Woman ko villain banane ka bahana chahiye. Aise hi hypothetically sleeping arrangements separate karne wala clause daal diya. Sirf aik masoomana khuwaish hai larki ki. The boy seems as unprepared to be a husband as the girl the wife.

Dunk: Bilal Abbas and Sana Javed are the reasons that I wait for every Wednesday. That scene between Haider and Amal at the very end was beautifully done and made up for the slow pace of the episode......the flavor of their interaction was subtle and casual on the surface from the inflection to the body language but there was this smouldering undercurrent brewing along.....they have fallen in hate with each other and both are doing a wonderful job of portraying that hatred. Both Bilal and Sana are depicting a very different kind of relationship dynamic.....that chemistry is scintillating to say the least.....I literally wait for their scenes to come......the crackling inferno between them truly lights up the screen......special brownie points for Azekah Daniel for giving such a refined touch to her portrayal....she is elusive and I feel there are more layers to her character....her reasons for marrying Haider are still not clear and she is keeping it very hazy or should I say suggestive.....so I am looking forward as to when there will be more unfolding of her character.....the side characters are all very one-dimensional for me with the exception of Laila Wasti's character.....Amal's pareshaan parents and annoying taya make me yawn. Nonetheless a good episode! Can't wait for the next one... Ishq Jalebi: A very, very underrated story. Just because it has a formulaic structure, that doesn't mean the ingredients inside have nothing new to offer. I can't agree with Hasan about Madiha's character.....she is level-headed and is not a crybaby at all....yes she is shown to be in love with Basim but holds her self respect intact and there is more to her life than craving for his love.....a responsible granddaughter and niece, a good friend to Basim, an ambitious young woman with sound goals....Madiha Imam is striking a wonderful balance between compassion and poise....then there is Basim who is my favorite character out of all......people who are calling him selfish lack empathy.....his frustration towards being unfairly treated by his grandfather is totally understandable yet at the same time he cares a lot for him.....the comic element in his frustration is such a delight to watch.....Wahaj Ali has already treated me with his remarkable comic timing in Mah e Tamaam and I am even further impressed in Ishq Jalebi.....to get your presence be felt when you are in the same frame with legends like Hina Bayat (uff kya elegance hai yaar), Irsa Ghazal, Noor ul Hasan and Qavi Khan is nothing short of sheer acting brilliance(and that's saying something because everytime I watch these three with the exception of Hina Bayat, I am reminded of Aangan which is such an all-time hot favorite of mine.....when I see Noor ul Hasan and Irsa Ghazal interacting in Isha Jalebi, I smile wistfully thinking about Hajra and Sajjad....and of course Abba ji of Aangan further intensifies my nostalgia......they left us in fits of laughter there and they are doing the same thing here....50 ml ka perfume hahahaha).....so Wahaj and Madiha if you guys are reading this, you guys have literally won me over! Your chemistry is fresh and fluid (a welcome change from the loverboy of Fitoor yet i still maintain that Wahaj looks THE BEST with Ramsha Khan) and makes me wait for the next episode so very eagerly. p.s. I laughed out loud when Hasan teased Aamna about ridiculing Irsa Ghazal's character in Ruswai and I SO wanted to see Aamna's reaction when Hasan was talking.....too bad the camera shifted to her when she started talking......I enjoy Aamna's puckish expressions so much.....wish I could have seen her then....but of course she made it up with her 'Aamna-ish' repartee.....her mimicry of Mrs. Aariz was legendary tonight!

Zoya in Tana Bana is incredibly annoying. While I completely agree with laying out conditions before they married each other, making her husband sleep underneath 36 lightbulbs because she refuses to study elsewhere is so obnoxious. Has anyone noticed that how Masood sahab behaves when anyone tries to blame sakina or her character. On the face he tried to show that he does not care about sakina and he is helping her as a human being but whenever someone accused sakina of something he got angry and the anger he shows is anger of a man who feels protective of someone and who feels possessive of someone. He has never shown such behavior towards hajra, insha and even ameera. Hats off to nouman for pulling off such a complex character and making us liking Maqood sahab. Another thing which I liked to mention about raqeeb se is it's haunting background score. Never in any pakistani drama I have seen so much importance given to background score. For Tanaa Banaa, I want to say two things. 1. Zoya is super annoying... Also, what's with 'facing' her classmates after they've come to know that she's married? She acts so sorted, but has no confidence in herself, her own reality. She shows up to be running away from her circumstances. That documentation of her demands was signed by Zain before marriage (regardless of the fact that he did not read it) - so not adhering to anything opposite to that makes sense, but I don't understand her behaviour, she happens to be a graduate of whatever program & is now enrolled into one for a post graduation, I don't know why she acts like a frustrated child, with no sensitivity towards what's more to her life now. That projection seems stupid to me. 😶 I'm loving how she's all up for her MBA, but this detachment from Zain's emotions doesn't make her win as this 'assertive' girl, but rather a daft one. 2. Zain's mother should keep a cook, it shouldn't be such a problem. 😤 It's just her ego here. She's comparing her life with her daughter in law's. Hire a cook man, this is Pakistan, you will find many. End of storyyy. Also, why doesn't Zebunnisah help with the house work? She's the daughter of the house. These are the double standards, the injustices. I feel bad for Zain's mother, but her own problems/sufferings give her NO justification to project them onto her daughter in law. Hire a helper mannn, it's that simple. Zebunnisah, the daughter of the house herself is a working woman, that's enough a reason to not force Zoya, but had even Zebunnisah been working in the house, no one still could have the right to coerce Zoya into shaping herself according to their workload. She has a life & goals of her own, & it wasn't hidden from Zain before their marriage.

Tana bana: Of all the problems in the world the drama deals with who should work in the kitchen.🤦‍♀️😂 Why are only bahus expected to do the kitchen work? Why doesn’t the phupi, who lives in the house with her family help her bhabhi? The poor woman has become bitter due to overwork. She has been cooking for everyone and no one thought of hiring a cook or help until her bahu comes along. What a ‘ had haraam’, selfish family. The problem is that Zain’s mom and Zoya are made out to be the bad ones and the dadi, her son and and daughter as the nice, sweet ones. It’s actually Zain’s mom’s revenge and Zoya being the weak, new bahu has become the victim.

Raqeeb se: Indeed, all three, Maqsood Saheb, Sakina, Hajra are victims of destiny and circumstances. All are right in their stance and have suffered. Sakina could not move on due to her husband’s abusive attitude, Hajra became the victim of collateral damage, but why could MS not give Hajra the rights of a wife. It is obvious that is was not the love for Sakina, rather, the hurt of unfulfilled love and betrayal, pain of loss of brother and career that made him bitter. I found Amera’s dialogue very apt, “ Maqsood Sahab nae dono auraton ko mar ke rakha hoa hae”. What does Maqsood Saheb want? The way the story is being narrated, the direction, acting, has made the drama a cinematic piece of exquisite artwork. 👏👌👍

It's totally justified that Zoya doesn't help in the kitchen. He signed the contract. She didn't even want to marry him, HE was after her, and she warned him more than once. We may not like Zoya's personality because that's subjective, but she never hid anything. She made everything clear, and he accepted it. It's his fault for not having thought anything through, and being so overconfident. He did a stupid thing, he fell for her even though she was so clearly disinterested and downright disdainful. He didn't think how a married life would be with such a person who is not ready for it. It was clearly VERY superficial for him, he was *just* taken by her attractiveness, it's not like she was nice to him in any other way. So yeah, he had ALL of this coming for that stupidity.

Y’all were too harsh on Neelam in Qayamat. Ifrah’s hesitance for her dads 2nd marriage is natural. The dialogues even reiterated it when she said her dad loved her mom a lot. Plus I’m sure all that was part of the writing, I doubt Neelam “conceived this aspect of Ifrah.” Her hesitance to accept her feelings for rashid (in the mirror scene) was also shown correctly. Her performance is actually really good!! She deserves more acknowledgement for Qayamat
