This record from France is in a format that I have rarely seen, a 33 rpm on a 7 inch disk (the size of a 45 record.) To add to the novelty, it features French pianist Ginette Doyen (1921-2002) who made very few recordings despite her successful concert career from the late 1940s through the 1970s. A thumb injury in the 1970s forced her to stop playing publicly. She was married to violinist Jean Fournier with whom she made several recordings.
Jacques Ibert (1890-1962) was a French composer. These short impressionistic pieces were published in to 1922. They were inspired by his travels to Spain, Italy, and to North Africa. One can hear echoes of other composers of impressionistic music like Debussy and Albéniz.
