@Rovant Ruined portals aren't the only structure to go through bedrock. I once found a shipwreck at bedrock level. For some reason (this doesn't really make much sense) there was regular stone instead of bedrock as replacement to some blocks there. (Including y-64 which shouldn't happen) I still don't know why that happend, but I have a rough theory: As it was an ocean biome the shipwreck could generate at the location, but on the surface there is a small underwater cliffface. Where the shipwreck wanted to generate it couldn't because there was land. (It was just on the edge of the sea) There was also a cave below that reached to bedrock. The shipwreck probably decided to generate down there, as it is the lowest point and at its wanted spawn location, also surface isn't possible. I'll tell you the seed tomorrow, as my parents wouldn't let me play Minecraft today. But keep in mind: I can guarantee you the seed won't work, I created the world in 1.17 Bedrock edition as an EXPERIMENTAL world. Due to the huge overhall of 1.18 world generation and the weird generation in experimental 1.17 it probably won't work. Note: Not 100% sure if you know, but experiments used to be you'd get acces to things from the next update that are still not fully developed. What I could do to prove it's actually legit id take a video of me in the world. I haven't gone in creative, or activated cheats... etc. So I couldn't really have faked it. And if I ever used cheats in settings it would say: Trophies cannot be earned in this world. (I play on PS4) If that isn't there it means I never used cheats. As far as I know there are no methods of breaking bedrock in survival bedrock edition so I couldn't just do that in survival. I could theoretically upload a video some time as proof. (I don't really know how to do so, so it could take a while. I have no clue how youtube videos can be uploaded). Notice: World was made in August of 2021, hope that helps.

Forgot to mention: I mined all the shipwreck blocks. They were spruce and akazia (messed up that spelling) I put some in a chest along with my void hole gear (I wanted to uncover the hole bedrock hole and clear some stone to see how big it was, I didn't use my main gear as I feared I'd fall into the void)
@sonwig518611 ай бұрын
Back when there was bedrock fog, it was much more common to find holes in the bedrock. It was difficult to see where the holes were, and often could be in places you wouldn't expect. If you saw one you had to plug it with obsidian quickly to stop the void getting in, and falling through was dangerous.

Here's a fun fact about the gray snowy grass block: all grass blocks actually use that texture. It simply is recolored depending on the biome it's found in, so the base texture is gray so it will be easier to recolor. After all, it's easier to write in a white sheet of paper rather than a colored one, right?

I have a "ghost village" in one of my survival worlds. It generated on top of a mountain that has large caves underneath, so the roads are on the surface but the buildings are underground. Maybe that's what happened with the other ones people have found, too? Edit: i almost forgot that in another one of my survival worlds, there was a mineshaft that dug through the first few layers of bedrock. My personal favourite anomalous seeds are the repeating seeds. Repeating seeds are rare occurrences that cause the game to spawn the same generation over and over resulting in infinite repeating caves, mineshafts, trees, end islands, ravines, and other funky stuff
@chri-k11 ай бұрын
How does that happen? Extremely weak seeds?

@@chri-kSeeds work in a specific way that I don’t understand fully but what I do know is all seeds repeat generation but since the distance between these repeats are so far you’ll never see it naturally but these repeat intervals are random based on the seed so there are rare seeds that have the repeat interval as 0 chunks

@@chri-kMojang plugged in some random keyboard mashing formulas to generate different things based on the seed and chunk coordinates. Sometimes certain seeds end up doing a chunk coordinate times zero, so that coordinate doesn't matter and the same thing generates at every X or Z coordinate.

When it comes to the ghost villages, a buried well would explain the phenomena. Basically, villages are generated out from the town center(pretty much all are wells) using jigsaw blocks, which generate random structures from each new segment, depending on the seed. If all 4-5 jigsaw blocks fail to create a structure due to running into terrain, nothing will generate.
@janitorizampedАй бұрын
Why would they generate the roads then?
@justsomeguy5628Ай бұрын
@@janitorizamped roads do a raycast down from the sky, if I'm not mistaken. That's why you see sudden jumps when it intersects with an overhang. They generate while the jigsaw blocks are generating the structure, filling in the gaps as it works its way outward. When it stops being able tk generate any more jigsaw block containing structures, it creates the final roads outward I believe. I am by no means an expert on world generation and chunk population, so there could be some mistakes, but that is the general idea.
@TheJustinShowAndCo2 күн бұрын
Had this happen in my world between updates 1.16-1.17. Minor terrain generation differences between updates confused the village and sent it fully underground into a cave below. Only the roads were visible on the mountainous Savannah biome above. Even farm animals were penned up underground.

I just noticed that when you loaded the seed for Anomaly Four, you actually spawned further out than the finder's spawn. As for how you can wind up farther out than 1500 or -1500 on X or Z, I speculate that the contingency for if a block within 500 of 0 on both X & Z axes gets chosen but isn't a valid spot, the chosen spot gets treated as the origin of the new search. This means that the furthest one can be from 0,0 on X and Z axes is.... Approximately 2,828.4271247461900976033774484194 blocks away (Pythagoras strikes again!), with the absolute value of each coordinate being 2,000 (i.e., actual value is either 2,000 or -2,000 for both X and Z coordinates). The only way to get further than that is an extreme Y coordinate, in which case you must take Y=0 into account. Regardless, the odds are.... Let's see.... 1 in 1,002,001 for any given block for the initial generation.... Quadruple that for both the X and Z coordinates having an absolute value of 500.... Assume 50% odds of invalid spawn location (being insanely generous).... Net odds of 2 in 1,002,001 for contingency spawn selection.... The contingency has 1 in 9,006,001 for any given block in range, and thus, to choose one with both X and Z coordinates having the greatest possible absolute value.... Assuming 50% odds of chosen block's spawn location validity = True.... (2/1,002,001)*(1/18,012,002).... The odds are 1 in 55,518,537,028,810,012,346,212,264,466,771. This is over 1 in 55.5 NONILLION!

In other words, even spawning that far from (X,Z) 0,0 is not just a once-in-a-lifetime event, it's a once-in-a GALACTIC YEAR event, and that's being generous!

Another really rare spawn is an ocean spawn, as in spawning in the water in the middle of the ocean, no land in sight for hundreds of blocks. I had this happen to me once while seed searching years ago (I can't remember the version but I believe it was after the 1.14 update that added the loading chunkmap) It took forever for the seed to load because it was searching for the nearest spot of land to spawn me on and when it eventually never found any within the spawn radius it finally loaded in and spawned me at X0 Z0 in the water. Generally when you load in a world, you can see the chunkmap begin to generate the world around X0 Z0 but once it determines a spawn point it moves the center of the chunkmap to that point and then loads from center out quickly enough that groups of chunks spawn in that eventually fill in the whole map. For the ocean spawn world i remember watching it load in the area directly around X0 Z0 and then began loading the world around it very slowly one row of chunks at a time going in a clockwise or counterclockwise fashion around spawn until eventually the whole area within the chunkmap was loaded and then I finally spawned in the world. I think this was also before the terrain and world height changes, so somewhere between version 1.14 and 1.16) not sure if this can still happen in the current version. I didnt save the seed though at the time (I was not about to swim for hundreds of blocks to find land) but now i wish i did just to show it to people.

If I understand the generation logic behind it, Ghost villages are in a sense working as intended. Villages are built from premade pieces with roads, houses and such in isolation- it starts to generate multiple branches from a single point that spreads out a certain length with a random chance for any of these pieces to be picked as long as they fit into the world. I don't know of any checks in such a logic that tries to guarantee a certain amount of any specific pieces in the whole set. In essence, a ghost village simply branched out without ever rolling for a house piece. We have access to the same tools in creative and datapacks with the jigsaw blocks. As a tangent, it is a rather nostalgic phenomena. I find minecraft to be rather crowded and not as spooky as it used to. I don't even feel like we're the masters of the land any more as villagers has become the literal marketing face of minecraft instead, pushing us out as invaders of the game. Stumbling upon this half-way sign of life that's yet clearly lacking of actual people reminds me of that early minecraft experience of finding odd terrain shapes or the hauntingly bizarre nature of inexplicit dungeons. Like there's a ghost in the machine that tried to manifest with us but can't quite make it through. All that remains of it are the indirect thumbprints of their denied presence.

the "ghost village" is most likely because since the village and pillage update, villages haven't been hardcoded, but generated using jigsaw blocks, in which basically each template has a certain number of connecting points, and when generating, the first one is generated (the well, I think), and then each connection gets another template randomly stuck on, et cetera; and so of course there is a small chance that it might only use paths throughout, and no village house templates, and there's not really a way to fix it without considerably changing how jigsaws work personally, I think they should add an ability to have maximum and minimum amounts of a certain template or template pool in a structure, it would be really useful for my modding and stuff

I believe it was on a snapshot so I don't know if its still possible for such a thing to happen, but that might explain the ghost villages. I'll have to go searching through my worlds to see if i can find it. When you found the well underground it reminded me of that.

Back in the day when i was playing Minecraft on my Xbox 360 I had a world with a very peculiar seed... It had 3 woodland mansions but they all are "broken" like one of them didn't even have roof and others had no walls or floors I think i still have this world but recently after like 12/13 years maybe? My 360 had the famous red light :(

I’ve been playing Minecraft for years and seen plenty of ghost villages and had no idea they were a thing

Correction on anomaly 3: igloos with basements, if generated close enough to bedrock, would tunnel through. I'm not sure if it can still happen, though.
@Nph200410 ай бұрын
I tried the second anomaly, the ghost village. There were no buildings, but 2 villagers spawned at the well along with an iron golem.

I have a world with a village that resembles a ghost village, but all the structures are in a cave just below the surface
@SprinkzMC9 ай бұрын
i dont think ghost villages were a bug or a mistake. when a village is generated, structures like houses and haybales have certain chances of spawning in certain chains. when theres a "ghost village" that just means no houses happened to spawn. so its just a lot of luck similar to full end portals, but yeah definitely not something that will be "fixed"

I got the ghost village about four months ago. I did not think much of it Also I love this style of content. Your a good channel!

I remember finding a bedrock hole generated by a mineshaft in 1.5.2 or 1.7.10 iirc, and i knew that this was rare but unfortunately never made a report about that
@nexinex604911 ай бұрын
correction: sink holes aren't rare. It's just what happens to every mountain the moment you get far enough out from spawn.

i think (maybe not im not sure) a while ago on jjava edition i found a mineshaft that tunneled through a bunch of bedrock i dont have the seed and i have since found other bedrock mineshafts but they leave the bedorck there
@colda.f.23811 ай бұрын
I've found a mineshaft that did that too! do you recall what version it was? the one I found was in 1.17. Maybe since then, it's been changed so they can't remove the bedrock anymore?
@hiyohiy11 ай бұрын
@@colda.f.238 much earlier than that, I still don't know the version but at least before 1.13

Hey! About the rare snow,i actually have a dead reddit post where i found FOUR BROKEN SNOW BLOCKS at spawn. Not sure if thats a world record, but who knows. (1.16.5 version btw)

I used to have a world with a ~5x5 hole in the bedrock. This was ~TU3 so the bottom layer of bedrock wasn't breakable in creative yet. I threw eggs down there and chickens stopped spawning in that world :(

a village consists of multiple parts 1 roads 2 houses with beds (the amount of villagers in a village is determined by the amount of beds which can only generate in this category of buildings) 3 profesion location (for example: farms, blacksmiths, library's and churches) and a village just generates the roads and a random amount of houses and profesion locations so it could technically generate none of those i once found a village with only 1 house being the one with a blas furnace (which is a profesion house but without villager as there were no beds)

about the first one. i'm proud to say i've seen it. i mainly play java 1.16.5, i like the simplicity, and saw the snow block near my spawn. it was near a small pond i think, and at the time i had no idea of it's rarity. should've took a screenie lol.

the first one aka rare snow can be replecated easily with the cc tweak mod. just set up a quarry(with limited fuel) in a snow biome set up chunk loading and then leave a few thousand blocks away then return when the fuel is empty and if all done correctly the "rare snow" should be there edit: i found this in all of fabric 3

I actually did find a bedrock hole in beta 1.8. I have no proof as I had no idea it was so rare, but in this version lava lakes could erase bedrock if they spawned low enough. I don't know when this glitch was fixed.

In my Bedrock survival world (PS4), I have this weird village near my base. It's not exactly a 'ghost village' because it has buildings, but it's REALLY tiny (only 1 or 2 houses along with the paths and all the other normal stuff) and there are no villagers/iron golems. Everything else was still generated, though, and I feel like this is something I should mention. I'm pretty sure the villagers didn't die, but I think it had something to do with how I generated it (maybe?) I think I found it after the Caves and Cliffs update which put a huge Savannah mountain just at the edge of my render distance (so maybe that glitched the village???) Edit: typos
