I listened to a video yesterday on YT that was about who the Essienes actually were. They were the exiled Levites from the McAbbee/Hasmonean era according to this YT channel. These were the same levites that John the Baptist was living with. He said the evidence is very clearly stated in the ancient texts. I thought it made a lot sense. But I'm going to do more investigating.

Upon thinking about it,...I can see the possible connections with the Levites and the Essenes...with the priestly concerns and the purity laws, the conflict with the Jerusalem Temple Establishment and the community organization aspects...🤔 Very interesting.
