Paul does teach that our lives are a living sacrifice. I believe he teaches that gentiles stop offering sacrifices to other gods and to their new God. However, he does say that someone with an enlightened conscience can eat food offered to idols, even going in their temples. He cut off sacrifices initiated by gentile believers. So where do they get their meat? From the meat market or temples. He both disproves and approves.

Paul does not lead a moral life according to his own words. He says he deceives, he uses guile, he steals from other churches, he boasts, he lies, he is a people pleaser, and he is a hypocrite as he morphs into whatever person he thinks his audience will accept.

You make a good case. The opposition makes a good case too. I suppose it all comes down to which God one prefers: A violent, vindictive God who demands death and blood, or a merciful, gracious God who seeks those who choose to follow that God with an attitude of humility.

I think there is a conflict of modus operand observable here, that once recognized, would help to clear the confusion. Recall that Paul has a ministry to the gentiles, to whom scriptural support for any teaching would be relatively meaningless. Instead, Aul derives his authority by means characteristic of a true apostle... unwavering perseverance and the working of signs and wonders and deeds of power. As a former Jew, he would be well versed in the Hebrew scriptures and able to judge when his opponents distort them to lend credibility to their teachings... which in fact he claims they frequently guilty of doing. Paul has no use for scripture to substantiate the developement of his theology about Jesus, because the gospel he recieved from Jesus was the gospel presented by Jesus and not about Jesus. It was James and the rest of the apostolic pillars of faith in Jerusalem who were trying to sell a perverted gospel about Jesus who were trying to scrape up any evidence they could by claiming, "It is written," or prophecied in the old testament. Using scripture in this way is method used by the developers and purveyors of the gospel of Christ to reach their Jewish targets, this being done to make up for their lack of Yahweh's authoratative power support for thier self-assigned ministry to the "Circumcision." Such use of scripture is not a method Paul would use to lend credence o his teachings among the gentiles. Therefore, when we encounter such a means being used to substantiate the teachings pertaining to the gospel of Christ in Paul's letters, we can know for certain, that these are not Paul's words for two reasons... first, Paul's gospel in the Way was not about Jesus as the Jewish Messiah and secondly, Paul relied on the convincing power of an authentic apostle to substantiate his teachings and not the twisting of the Hebrew scriptures to give authority to his claims. The work of a fraudulent interpolator, I have heard, relies not so much on removing material as making additions enough to mask or confuse and then explain away the confusions with the rest of the additions. This technique is very evident in the additions the Priestly Source makes to the Torah, (recall the instances of double narratives found there, one of which is always from the Priestly Source material). It is also found among the favorable post-exilic author additions made to the half dozen authentic writtings of the pre-exilic Written Prophets. The gospel of the Way presented by Jesus and Paul curcumvented the developments of First Temple Yahwism and Second Temple Judaism all together, while preserving the authentic revelations of The Torah (minus the Priestly Source additions). Hi James, I think this series is fantastic and I'm yet only a few videos in. Thank you for your insightful interpretations. Whilst the content is great, i think in areas your conclusions are off. For example, Paul did not get it wrong that by grace we are saved by faith, it is just the way this phrase is interpreted that is wrong. Ultimately it comes back to trust in God as from the Hebrew Bible (trust that they are justified, be it or not that they knew it would be eventually accomplished by Jesus), or in the New Testament being trust that the price had already been paid. As for this video, I think your interpretation is valid but cringe whenever you say that the New Testament got it "wrong". How can a soverign God have allowed incorrect information to have crept into the Bible when the writers are under the influence of the Holy Spirit? Furthermore, the statement you made that Jesus is not God, and wasn't viewed as such by the early church, is simply grossly incorrect. I have studied this in immense detail, having previously shared your view, but there is simply no way this view can be substantiated. Several of the Apostles called Jesus God, Thomas to His face, John, James & Paul. I would like to know how you can have come to such a conclusion when the rest of your insightful study is so valuable.

But I think you’ve been in the books too long and some of your logic has over taken your gift to listen to the Holy Spirit which could give you some basic insights with more gravity then the books and scholars opinions who often have agendas. I don’t care if Paul was the first account or the oldest account. As much as you have written and studied about Paul… I would think you would be able to consider how he would’ve gotten the most accurate account not even being an eyewitness and having been a enemy to Yeshua when he was alive. Not only that… Having the bloodline of Herod, and the Jesus he calls Lord, clearly being another Jesus… Not the one the chosen apostles walked with. How do you put so much consideration and emphasis into some of the things that Paul has said, based on simple the fact that it was written some years earlier? Great video! I became interested in these same ideas many years ago through a book by Martin A. Larson, " The Story of Christian Origins" (1975). Larson presents essentially the same theory that the later views of early Christians were formed from ideas of Enochian Judaism permeated by Pythagorian ideas , views that became widespread during the last centuries BCE. A great book that has been a big influence on my thinking , it is not easy to find but well worth seeking out. Thanks for bringing this concept forward on the internet.

Genesis 1:1 is a generalization of the created results. Genesis 1:2 and beyond is a daily generalization of how it was done. For example, let light be, meaning more than is obvious. It also includes separation of the colors, types, and the spectrum of all things that emit any kind of light.
