It's beyond great that the great and legendary 727 is still around and doing its job in 2024! All hail the king!

Nostalgic seeing the 727 still flying, I remember the youth years at the University flying this aircraft back home, you could hardly hear the noise of the engines located at rear.

Oh wow, Niederrhein. I used to work at Doesburg (2002 to 2005) in Nieuw Bergen, and lived in Op de Pal, and would frequently cycle up to Weeze to watch the planes. Thanks for the vid. The take off was outstanding

Occasionally see this aircraft (or sometimes her sister G-OSRA) visiting Lasham airfield in the North of Hampshire,UK - possibly for maintenance.
@robertboffey80619 ай бұрын
@@simonwhite9967 2Excel Aviation, who operate G-OSRA and G-OSRB, have a facility where they maintain narrow-body airliners at Lasham so it's very likely.

I remember how no modern airplane can begin to compare to the deafening noise of a hush-kitted 727.
@bradbel9 ай бұрын
I hear you. I live near MSP airport and had a to talking when a “hush-kitted” DC-9 flew over. Modern civil airplanes are much quieter.

@@larrymalpaya 747-Classics could be loud but I can't recall departures of the 737-200. I'll never be able to forget the 727 though...in an ear busting, house shaking class of its own.

BE STILL MY HEART.... she still is in the air. BEAUTIFUL.... and that wet runway... some serious reverse thrust. The cracking sound of classic aviation. The smoke and the climb...whew Today pales in comparison to the classic age.

I worked in the airline industry starting in 1989. These birds were the workhorse of the fleet. After 9-11 they were quickly taken out of service. Ya, they were loud, but a great airplane. I remember opening up the air stairs on the back, and seeing the DB Cooper device that prevented them from being open during flight.
@JM-750039 ай бұрын
Same...DL at BOS. 727 was probably the most common jet at the time. And plenty of DC-9, 737-200, MD-80, L-1011, and DC-10's in and out of Boston...airlines like Eastern, TWA, Northwest, US Air, Piedmont, and Pan Am.
