Millennium can be had for cost around 5k. It’s going to sit on shelves for ever at $7500 but I do know a store in Sacramento that told me they sold one at 9k which blew my mind because inwas offered one for $5300. Still to much for me. I can by 6 GTS all day for that

Agree - stupid pricing. His suggested cash prices were high ($500 for Birthday Bourbon - c’mon… and $1200 for two Parker’s Heritage, jeez). Secondary is out of control.

In dc it’s hit or miss. A lot of the people will work with you for a fair price. Some will not. My guess is that they get so many business people with a massive wallet it’s marked up and sells to those who don’t know whiskey/bourbon. But I’ve been in a few stores in DC who worked with me and were very fair pricing wise. I typically py over msrp for them, but nowhere near secondary. Even though most are marked to secondary or higher

I didn’t get a price on the Staggs, but he seemed to come down to at least low secondary on pretty much everything. Some stuff he was willing to come down a lot more than that.

I wouldn’t even buy beer from that store. It’s one thing to charge full secondary for BTAC level bottles, but when you’re charging full secondary and more for shit like Makers Heart Release you don’t deserve any business.

This liquor store has everything. Unfortunately his bottles will be dust collectors. He's asking way to much money. No whiskey is worth the price. Allocated bottles don't deliver for the price. To many good bottles on the shelves for under $100.. Good luck with your purchases.

@@umami0247 what you’re describing is how abc states work and stores like that have to use a drop system otherwise they can’t keep bottles on the shelf. I actually don’t mind this way, mark them way up and then negotiate with everyone. In a control state none of those bottles would be available. Nice to have access to both systems though! And secondary obviously doesn’t benefit the distillery. But it does kind of benefit consumers in a way…without it none of those special releases would be available years after they’re bottled.
