Back in 96, or maybe 95. The McDonald’s in Long Beach. And the grocery store next-door were hit by a tornado. I think the cross streets are sterns and Palos Verde..

I was in Calif. in 1968-69 at the Lemoore Naval Base, and on the cattle car riding to my work site was a 7 mile road with large fields to each side. I was wearing polarized sun glasses, and could see long and skinny funnels in those fields, just sitting almost in one place swirling around.. Without the glasses I could not see the funnels. Putting them back on, took the heat haze away and you could see them clearly.. They were like the water funnels that one can see at sea.. I seen 3 of those one day in front of our ship, just long white funnels hardly moving in any direction. Then one day I seen a black funnel over the water, I'd say that one was a tornado that came from land..
