@Ferrari312pb Rain in Monaco is basically undrivable conditions, especially back then. Also the BRM V12 was powerful but surely less suited to rain than the very flexible Cosworth DFV V8. So you're right,, rain sure didn't make his race easier.

Wonderful footage ! I understand Beltoise was handicapped by an arm injury he sustained in a previous accident and they say that the rain made the BRM easier to drive for him. EASIER ?!?!

Well I guess it has something to do with the rain allowing him to go much slower than usual and by that having to fight much less g-force while steeting.

The day I became mad ... I was about to turn 12, and was a big fan of Beltoise. What a souvenir ... @McLarenMercedes: I think that this is just the opposite : having 12 cylinders makes the engine more powerful but also more flexible. The operating range was wider than the Cosworth, therefore easier to use under these conditions.
