You two should also try our "humba" which is influenced by the Chinese "Hong Bah" (封肉).

I'm impressed at how a non-Filipino knows so much about Filipino cuisine and can make them accurately.

Glad you tried and enjoyed. The meals look pretty accurate to what I am used to. I would say the banana ketchup would be better with the eggplant omelette and, at least for me, the egg roll would be better with vinegar than ketchup.

Filipinos prefer our food savory instead of relying too much on dipping and sauces. Sisig is what is called beer food. Pork is softened then grilled and chopped and mixed w/ red onions, crunchy pork skin, calamansi juice.

"Instead of relying on dipping and saices"? Kung ganun po eh bakit kailangan palaging may sawsawan ang Pinoy habang kumakain?

no pork skin, no need to try too hard to make it sound more interesting.

The Filipinos use calamondin, a small, bitter orange, rather than lime. It is native to their islands.

I dont think I have the stomach for 'Balut' anyone tried it let me know how it taste?

It tastes egg with chickrn soup😂😂😂😂😂
@AngryKittensАй бұрын
It tastes exactly like boiled duck egg yolk in chicken soup, like bluewolf said. I mean it looks very exotic, but taste-wise, it's not exotic at all. If you ever try it, you can choose ones where the duckling is still very small (incubated for 10 days or less, avoid the older ones). And you can choose not to eat the chick, just the yellow part. Season it with salt and vinegar, just the TINIEST amounts of both. It's common for first timers to overseason it, pouring vinegar and a spoonful of salt on it, thinking they can hide the taste, and end up making it genuinely awful instead. Remember, the TASTE is not the problem at all. It's just the visuals. Don't eat the white part (which is the egg white). It's edible, but it's hard, rubbery, and tasteless (though some people like to chew it for the texture).

Adobo is not the national dish. Philippines have No National dish. When a restaurant has Adobo in the menu, it is for vloggers. No Filipino would care to ask for Adobo in a restaurant. Sadly vloggers end up eating food items that are not so cultural. Lumpia is not exotic to Malaysians or even to Swedish and Portugese people. Lumpia is just called Egg roll in the USA. 😢 As for sisig with eggs, even pet dogs in Pampanga wont eat it. Sisig must never have eggs. Sisig with eggs is like putting peanut butter on sashimi or wasabe on lasagna. No doubt the food in the restaurant is great. But Adobo as national dish was very funny. 😂😂😂😂.

You are who? Do you cook? Every region in the Philippines have different interpretation of dishes. Same with Adobo. In Bicol we have "Adobo sa Asin". Adobo is hands down a national dish.
