I hope that the Japanese will never forget their roots and will always live between tradition and modernity... I wouldn't want the world to lose that, or the Japanese to lose their essence ❤️ Best wishes from France 🇫🇷🇯🇵

I think this cinema was probably shot by a French person. At that time, Japan had just opened its ports, so few people wore western clothes, and most common people wore kimonos to varying degrees. Without the skills and efforts of the French, we Japanese would not have been able to see Japan as it was then.

@user-od1nm6ee6h
@user-od1nm6ee6h 6 ай бұрын
@@user-ed7st2xi2lAs a Japanese, I will answer that silly question. In Japan, students learn about past wars from the time they are in elementary school. They learn about the nuclear bombs dropped on the U.S., the wars Japan has launched against other countries, and all aspects of war, and think about what "peace" means by the time they are in junior high school. There is not a single Japanese person who does not know that nuclear bombs were dropped by the United States. The dropping of the atomic bombs was unforgivable, but hating the U.S. today will only continue the cycle of hatred.

Yes, I think the Japanese deliberately cut themselves off from the rest of the World for 200 yrs, to conserve & develop their culture & become as self -reliant as possible . I wonder whether they look back on this as a positive step or a negative one ? I have visited Japan & they do have a very strong sense of culture & still want to preserve it today. They welcome visitors, but don’t want it ‘diluted’ too much. Having said that , elements of American, French & English cuisine have been embraced & they are very interested in Ballroom dancing ! 😊

They were dictators,not politicians elected by the people. The militia carried out a military coup and ended democracy in the country and the parties that were agaisnt them. Later the militia was led by the dictator Hideki Tojo and they held the imperial family as hostages and puppets. I already had the chance to talk to Japanese people about this period in the country's history,and they said that it was kind of scary that their relatives had to live under the militia dictatorship and that they are happy that it is over and today they live in peace.
