kinda got misled by the title, im aware they go to 'cleaning stations; and rely on other marine life for maintenance of sorts. So do several other large marine creatures like turtles. The title suggests the sunfish itself is cleaning, which is rather absurd considering the morphology of the creature lol.

Fun fact most of the species on Earth are actually on land, about 80%, despite the oceans larger size - in part due to how water can disperse small larval stages of organisms further than in air and land. And of that 15% (the other 5% are in freshwater habitats) the vast majority live in the Euphotic zone, 0-200m below the water, where there is enough sunlight to allow plants to grow and provide food. Below that, in the Twilight and Abyssal zones, ecosystems are instead mostly based on marine snow, sparse bits of organic matter that falls from the sunlit area - which fundamentally limits the amount of organisms that can be sustained there.
