"Singa" comes from the Sanskrit word siṃha (सिंह), which means "lion", and pura (पुर) means "town" in Sanskrit and is a common suffix in many Indian place names. The Sanskrit origin is due to the regional influence of Chola kings of India, who spoke Tamil, but preferred to use Sanskrit for royal and religious titles. "Simha"(lion is the King of the forest) from the forest and "pura" is a temple or a religious place. Singapore (新加坡) is the version from the overseas Chinese similarly to "Forestcity". Forest for the green and city for "pura." The word pura is the oldest Sanskrit language word for "city", finds frequent mention in the Rigveda, one of the four canonical sacred texts of Hinduism.

This is factually correct and the elephant in the room for the specious discussion about Singapore even by the CNA's museum documentaries about Mahapahit never mention this. Actually the 'Hindu' label is incorrect and isn't indigenous to India. It comes from the Middle East. The correct labels is Vedic which is natural law based knowledge of seeking, not a religion with no conversion etc. Sanatadharma is the path and is inclusive of other religions, non religius spiritual paths and aetheusm. It is consciousness based. Sanskrit was the language of the Vedic rishis and its spread included South Asia. Russia and Iran to South East Asia called Nusantara in Sanskrit. Nusantara means between the islands in Sanskrit.

Men of those days toil under the sun and probably did a lot of heavy work. Of course they need to eat at their own time. Women today wants equality when times are easy but would never dare to voice inequality seeing how men work and sacrifice in the early days. Our forefathers didn’t build a future Singapore for today’s women to be so ungrateful.

Why are men being so misogynistic in this comment section? Is it that hard to be respectful to women?
@TWCH3 жыл бұрын
Angry misandrous women reach unsupported conclusions highly critical of men. And their critique is knee jerk and wrong where is can be assessed, as with the man making dumplings. They are not dumplings. What these women are certain of is men are oppressors and women are victims and they project that belief into everything they see.

Such an irony.
@ELGtheMAN5 жыл бұрын
@@NangongReng1973 yes I agree. Many Banana Chinese especially worship White people and their culture too much. I used think like that but I then realised many Western ways are actually defective and short sighted. For most part of history China was way ahead of the rest of the world, that included the West. It's only about past 150 years China fell into Century of Humiliation, beginning from Western powers greed for Chinese goods. Chinese culture was so refined that even Japan and Korea adopted lots of them. Now China has returned to its superpower status and it will only get stronger and stronger. I am happy that I am happy to watch the comeback of China in this life time.
