Lounge lizard/King of Soul Ren took me by surprise. So good. Kai on bass was brilliant. Sylvia and Scarlet, the backing singers, were sooo good - not only providing buttery smooth vocals but driving the beat with their clapping. And they were all performing in a tiny corner. Absolutely loved it !

'Back on 74' by Jungle is much more dancy and faster, it is only 6 months old. He slowed both songs down and mixed the key to both songs. 'Message in a Bottle' by The Police from their 1979 album Reggatta de Blanc (Sting was their singer, and Ren did more of Sting vocal for their song). Ren started playing the riff to 'Message in a Bottle' during the last part of 'Back on 74', but the rap was all Ren.

I love that you're on the Ren train. Please, though, "head voice" doesn't mean "relatively high pitch," just as "chest voice" doesn't mean "relatively low pitch." Similarly, "head voice" doesn't mean "raspy." Yes, all of these terms are related, but they're not interchangeable. In that grand scheme of things, it's not a big deal. It's just a bit grating. Setting that aside, the structure of this song is genius. First verse: Back on 74 all the way Second verse: Back on 74 lyrics with Message in a Bottle guitar riffs Final verse: Message in a Bottle all the way

The research I did was that it was from the group called Jungle. I didn't want to ruin the 1st time impression. I'm actually doing their song tomorrow to see the difference. Far as message in the bottle I know. I'm going to continue the way I do things. Your criticism is noted.
