I recently grabbed a nice roof rack from a local salvage yard for my later model E - Two OF THE bolts were stripped a bit - I sprayed them all with penetrating lubricant, waited a few minutes, used a proper hex socket and slammed it in on the two seized bolts a bit with a small hammer to wedge it in - This technique, lol, provided enough fit and I gained enough torque to remove them, simple but effective...

Great find Logan. That fog light switch and interior harness is unobtainable anywhere. You can get a great price for that. I knew there would be a frenzy of comments when I saw this. Great job. 👍

Nice score! I've owned two, and currently have a blue 06' EX-P AWD with 96k. Most (if not all) the Elements here at the Denver area yards are nothing more than skeletons at this point. Guys comb Craigslist daily for fresh Element kill, and descend upon them like vultures! Honda really should re-release this great little car. Maybe as an electric.

I found a pair of OEM running boards the other day at the junk yard. The paint was chipped on both sides and they would need to be redone. Shop wanted $100. I left them. What do they usually sell for?

You definitely should have gotten them. The 2003-04 sell for $180-$250. The 2005-08 sell for $200-$300.

Why do Elements end up in the junk yard? I have the same color Honda element- manual with over 230,000 miles on it

I think most of the time it’s because the owner has no idea the cult following they have. I hate to see it too. This one in specific had a huge oil leak. Every part in the engine bay was covered in oil and even the running board was covered on the passenger side. There wasn’t a speck of rust on it and it had brand new suspension. You can tell someone dumped a ton of money into maintenance but it ended up in the yard.

@@junkedelements Flint Michigan. I'm not on Facebook. I can have my wife message you from hers if your interested in coming to Flint to get the element. Starts, runs drives, new tires. 230k miles. I think it has all it's original cat and muffler and all, and it's awd automatic. Been wrecked and I put new pieces on the front end. Same color so now looks pretty good. Not great. But it's not all rusted out or different colors
