Ghee is nothing but clarified butter. Just get butter and heat it until it is dehydrated completely (all the water should boil away, takes a while) you get aromatic ghee, which can be used to cook. Very common in Indian kitchens. Rajasthan is largely desert and the ground has mostly sandy soil. Sand, as you probably know, gets extremely hot and is a great medium for cooking. If you are trying it in your backyard, not sure what the ground is like. Not all kinds of soil are good for this type of cooking. Obviously, if the ground has been treated with pesticides or fertilizers or if it is common garden variety soil, you wouldn't want to cook there.

@@BoringReviews Butter but clarified. If it doubt just melt your normal butter and add it. It will be easy to get all these spices in any indian store in the US. Or maybe you can get 'Ghee' at the indian store too. All the ingredients are common in every Indian home.

What people don't understand is that indian food is very healthy it is not processed in a factory even the butter is healthy it's made naturally no preservatives added. I'm a qualified food technogist. Indians know how to cook and make vegetables tasty and fun. It's not like American fast food.

Now I want dessert. :D Chris, go to any Indian grocery store there in Las Vegas for the ingredients. There are several and Google knows where they are. Save up jelly jars to keep the whole spices in. Buy whole spices because they are cheaper in the long run and will retain their aromatic oils longer than pre-ground spices. Just like coffee. Some recipes will require pan roasting of the seeds before grinding. Just like coffee. Buy a separate cheap coffee grinder for under $10 and segregate it from your actual coffee grinder. Another route is to buy small packets of individual spices pre-ground, especially the Garam Masala, turmeric, cumin, cardamon, and red chili powders. However, stay away from the small cardboard packets of spice mixes that claim to be pre-mixed for specific dishes. Those are just for the tourists and have little to no comparison to the actual spices (most are just the same crappy bitter spice blend behind different dish names and different pictures). No Indian will buy it a second time without a sponsorship contract. Ghee is simply clarified butter, which is butter cooked over a low flame while removing any solids that float to the surface. What is left is essentially a shelf stable butter oil that can last on the counter for weeks and in the fridge for months. It has a wonderful nutty flavor and scent. It is a lot cheaper to make than to buy. There are tons of KZbin recipes. Here's my choice for a chef to learn Indian cooking from (I used to be a caterer). kzbin.info/www/bejne/gWbcfmCjZ7uirdk

I guess butter expires around 20 days coz of the water content. So Indians do ghee. for lot of things. Its believed here that the cholesterol in it is good for us. Must watch all the episodes of this channel. You'll learn India Watch videos of other sports like Kho kho, kabadi, Indian wrestling. Indoor game carrom

Ghee can cause problems. Believe me its not very good for people with bad liver or stomach. There are good and bad sides to everything. We did not invent elixir and called it ghee

Rajashthani food has too much fats. Almost everything is made with ghee(clarified butter). Not a huge fan to be honest. Punjabi main course, bengali sweets, marathi, gujarati snacks, and south indian rice and coconut dishes are my favourite. Loved your video.😊
