Rare Intercity V Set on the Richmond Branch Line! | Train Vlog #46

I've lived in the area for 44 years and I only know of one other time a V-set was here. There used to be a photo in the SM office of the XPT, a K set and a 600 set all lined up at the level crossing. That's the rarest occasion I know of 😀

@@coolsoap8 I assume it was taken in 1983 when the XPT did a bunch of demo runs, I was only a toddler then! I also assume the SM took the photos when he retired in the late 90's.

Thanks Class 38’s, it was very strange seeing the V sets out at Richmond. It’s always cool to see V sets on suburban lines and I’m glad to tick this one off my list

A nice little video all my years on the railway especially on the branch with steam rail motors diesel electric but never a v set.

The Richmond line has certainly seen a lot of trains come and go in its time, but a V set certainly is unusual to traverse this line. It was very fortunate that I found out about these training runs as it may very well be the last time a V set goes down there before they’re nothing but museum pieces. Because the guard light was missing
