Loved this interview of one of my favourite music directors Mohammed Zahur Khayyam Hashmi sahab . But 1 thing I was doubtful about . The film 'Chandni Chowk (1954)' had music by another of my favourite music directors Roshan Lal Nagrath sahab . Then how is it that Khayyam sahab mentioned that Ghulam Ahmed Chishti sahab was the music director ? Please explain me . 🤔

He says this is the film they started in Lahore with Baba Chishti's music and had to be abandoned.

@@suhana_daur This was to be BR Chopra's directorial debut in Lahore, pre- partition India. From BR Chopra's entry in Wikipedia (because it is handy, could quote other sources as well) ,"In the same year, he launched a film with a story by I. S. Johar, Chandni Chowk. Naeem Hashmi was hero of this movie and Erika Rukhshi was the heroine. Just as the production of film was to start, riots broke out in Lahore and he and his family had to flee from the city." Subsequently, he finally made the film much later in India.
