All this because he give up a weekend to help a film student make a short film to pass an exam. Then, after Titanic was released, the student padded out the film and marketed it as a feature to cash in on Leos name. DiCaprio did this guy a favour and the guy returns it by cashing in on Leos name, blackmailing him with threats that he wil make up stories about Leo if he does not agree to allow the movie to be released. What a con and Leo ends up here because of it. Thats what you get for giving up your weekend to help a film student out. Whata lowlife that director is.

thank you so much for explaining the whole thing, you don’t know how much it means to me. as a new big leo fan when i found the film i was kinda dissapointed and getting uncomfortable because people were saying if leo’s actually like that in real life even tho it was all acting/impro. i was wondering why would he wanted it to get banned if he’s innocent but why in the first place film something like that. now you’re telling it was all for a film to pass an exam so thank you again for letting me know the truth. in my opinion it is also very weird from the director make the short film into a ’movie’ then bully leo because of it. now i feel sad for leo. but is it true he wasn’t being fr like his charachter irl? i just hope not because leo has become my comfort person and always thought he is very sweet to people like his fans and in interviews etc. so i hope it’s not real!

I don't understand how Leo DiCaprio of all people/actors ended up in the middle of all of this Don's Plum movie mess. The other side of this heart breaking sad real life story is that friendships were destroyed and that Toby Maguire is the main liar here. Looking at this this from the outside, not knowing any if these people myself, the other side of this story, doesn't really make any sense to me. Millions of dollars were lost. Yet, Hollywood is finally failing more and more as the decades go on. Nothing is hidden before the Lord.

@@Juliana-ob2dt David Stutman said Maguire opposed the film's release due to his improvised performance revealing too much about him. Stutman filed a lawsuit in 1998 against DiCaprio and Maguire. They settled on allowing the film to be released outside the US and Canada, and had some scenes removed
