Apparently (true story) he gained the weight because his research indicated that birds eat worms. His first thought? A bird couldn't possibly eat a 400 000kg worm! When Christian arrived on set, he was surprised and slightly disheartened that there were no birds to be found. Undeterred, Mr. Bale proceeded to give a performance of a lifetime (which, in worm-years, is up to nine years).

Like Christian bale. But why would someone like Dwayne Johnson change, if being Dwayne Johnson is wat made him wat he is. He does not have half the talent Christian bale and other awesome actors have. So he must be talented someway to make it on top inspite of just acting himself in all movies. 😂

The way Christian Bale completely understands the satire of American Psycho is so refreshing cause often actors never comment on the actual message of their films, in fact they avoid it. Especially if it's a movie like that one.

@emmabennett7699 2 жыл бұрын
@@cananary I think we have smart actors now. Like Adam Driver for example. However even during this era, you had films like Fight Club which contains similar themes about capitalism and how feel about their lives and in the interviews with the actors the only thing they ever talked about was how "crazy" it was, never really acknowledging the themes. Not to mention nowadays the media industry is way, way more commercial and saturated. Everyone's always trying to appeal to the masses so they have to vague and the really big projects they do don't give the actors much room to actually talk about layered meanings like this. Not that there aren't any more creatives who are witty and smart it's just that they aren't getting the funding to make what they want to make.

My suspicion is that, whenever they skip an obvious movie, it's because the actor didn't want to talk about it. Which is understandable, I'm sure not every film shoot goes smoothly, with the actor getting along with everybody, loving their co-stars and directors etc. Which makes these videos kinda dishonest in a way, cos all we ever hear about is the ones that went well. But hearing actors say nice things about each other is nicer than gossip, so I don't mind.

It was refreshing to hear Bale talk so much about the actual experience he had with Ledger together instead of focusing on the downwards spiral of the performance, Ledger's mental health, and the eventual tragedy. A lot of that was just media-sensationalized myth. Everyone that worked with him on TDK said that the dude was having a blast on set, including Bale. Issues in his personal life likely had a much bigger role in his death than the role, but that’s not as interesting of a story than Ledger losing his mind to the role in the eyes of the media and gossipers.

I think a lot of it has to do with him having the ability to change his appearance so thoroughly for each role that a lot of other actors just don't have.
