Keep it. If it makes you feel like it clearly does, it needs to be kept, driven and enjoyed.

Bin the leccy BUMW and use the SLK. Life's too short to leave a special car sitting around 👍

drive it and enjoy it. they're never worth saving for the next guy

Keep the SLK55! You gave very good reasons why you should keep it😊 As i watch your video and see your car, I think to myself man that is a badass car, wish I--wait I have one just like it!

You’re right, we do have a badass car, let’s just keep em 👍

Great content. Love mine but as you know only had it a short while. It has a great following but is quite a rare car. Your comments are very correct. Well built, which journalists overlooked back in the day. Together with that engine!

Hi Neil, great content here and have been following you for a while. I've got the same SLK55 as you, I've started a channel with some videos of my car, it's at an infancy stage with a lot to learn ie I need a better Mic..lol. By the way have you done the X-pipe mod yet? If not check out my videos for other things I've done to further improve the V8 noise. Keep up the great work on your channel looking forward to seeing more of your content on the SLK55!

Thanks fella 👍 Will definitely check your channel and hit a subscribe. Yeah a good mic is imperative. Viewers will forgive you a dodgy bit of footage but not poor sound quality. Mine will be staying stock. As nice as some of the mods are this car is one for the oem look 👌

"Just drive one" was your advice. So do as you say and use it. Use it for some daily journeys and tasks. I will be......

As mentioned in your last video - I own the exact same car here in Cape Town South Africa, same model, colour, higher mileage though but essentially identical and the amazing thing is I’m also after an AMG GT but the car also provides me so much pleasure and good spirit that I could never part with it. Definitely something existential about these old SLK 55s that captivate once you have the good fortune of owning one😊

I knew you’d understand 👍 It’s is a dilemma, good one though 😀

Lovely sounding Merc and it looks in great condition, mind you with that low mileage it should do! The MX5 RF looks great too, I had a 30th Anniversary Edition Roadster which I recently sold and I miss the gear change and fun factor - you did however raise a good point about the RF giving you the openness but not making you feel on display! I can;t help but think that GT itch is only going to grow,....Cheers, Kevin

Oh I do love the nd and with the little tweaks we’ve done it drives fabulously. Every home should have one 😉

Keep! Fully understand the emotional connection, that's irreplaceable and not something you can put a monetary tag on. I've always had Mercs of this era - E400, SL400 and now CLS 400 and they have all be fantastic and hardly show signs of wear etc if well looked after. Whenever I've had a new one as a courtesy car, they leave me cold in pretty much all areas. I think the AMG GT would be fun for a bit and then.... regret!

Do like the cls, pretty car, particularly in shooting brake form. Like an estate for a daily driver. Beginning to think the GT would probably be a step too far financially also 🤔 and don’t really want to put myself in that position these days.

Having an emotional attachment to a car is normal for any petrol head I think, especially if it was bought for a specific reason (such as improving poor mental health). I don't bond with either of my cars at the moment and frankly I feel like something major is missing from my life - it bothers me much more than it should! You won't know how you really feel until it's gone, I guess.

All very true 👍 The car definitely saved me in tough times and that will never not be the case, making it hard to let go. I enjoy the other cars, but not emotionally attached to any of them

My 2 cents,if you really sell it you will regret it much. the slk is the last one wich built with a metal roof, naturally asprated v8 engine and more rarely than a 300 sl and i be sure he will be come toma expensive classic in the future a gt will be not a good alternate for it,take care but how ever my one stays with me for ever even when i drive it only 2000-3000 Km a year but every ride is a highlight and a special and the great opposite is that i use as a daily driver a electric car😇😇and i like it as well
