This was great to see. I live in Ludgershall and family have been here for over 100 years. I remember playing at the station area before the housing was built when I was about 12, over 45 years ago. I fantastic opportunity to see this. Thank you

Was on this Railtour (and maybe the last tour to do Platform 0 back in the 90's?). Excellent job in recording the events along the Ludgershall branch.

Thank you for your kind comment, I had to do a lot of running to catch it in different places 😃. Hope you enjoyed your day on the tour 👍🏻

When those on the Railtour poured out onto Andover station they looked very hot and bothered, only to find the mens toilets were closed! 😱

Thanks for a really interesting video ! I first heard about this line when I was working for part of the MoD back in the early 2000's - I would love to have joined this railtour ! 😎

Appreciate you taking time to watch 😃. I struggled with wanting to join the railtour versus capture it from the ‘outside’ for historical reference. I think I made the right choice as it was a baking hot day with no aircon on the train!!

Excellent. Only remaining part of the MSWJR. I was lucky enough to visit on a DEMU railtour a few years back.

wow, used to regularly cabride the ludgershall line in a crompton in the 80s!

My grandparents used to live in Andover and while I never got a cab ride down the branch I did get a few cab rides (crompton) in the old postal train that used to shunt and leave in the evenings from Andover back in the late 70's/80's. Not sure when it stopped but the sidings and think the old goods shed have gone now. When they first moved there I remember the two signal boxes at each end of the station. Also the remains of the town station were still there. Happy memories.

As you visited a military track and so, was there any restrictions for foreigners to join the train?
@CPRailVideos2 жыл бұрын
Hi, no, it was open to all via the Railtour company which was UK Railtours on this occasion
@mikehitchen31532 жыл бұрын
You don't get off the train and theres nothing much left there and nothing sensitive so there wouldn't be an issue
