Rare Pembrooke Coral Mk2 Consul Hi Line.

Bought for £250 30th Sept 1979 from original 1st owner. Some work done in the 80s including full re-con engine, + steering box.1994 full body overhaul + respray. [See pics in video]. Told by previous owner on one of my many visits that this car is one of the original 1957 Earls Court Motor Show cars, so the original Ford Coral colour + history makes this Consul very rare. Car supplied after the motor show to Skippers of Burnley hence the GCW reg number.

Had loads of Mk2 Consuls/Zephyrs and Zodiacs, more Low Lines than Hi Lines, this is a beautiful Pembroke Coral Rare colour, and a lovely early car too... Fantastic to see it, my mate has the same colour but his is a Hi Line Zephyr Farnham Estate with the Egg Crate Grille, Ultra Mega Rare

Thanks for your great reply. Car unfortunately has been in a body repair shop since Christmas. Needed a new screen rubber, l bought one from a place in Kent which didn't fit. So had been trying in desperation to find another. So has been windowless all this time. Someone said just break the car up for spare parts, but could not do so after 41 years of ownership. In the end I managed to get one from Australia, nearly £200, but was worth it. Rubber and screen now in, and some other tidying up jobs to do. Main reason the car went to the Body Shop was somebody caved the rear door in and drove off without saying anything, so had that to sort myself. Door now repaired and painted. Have put some posts on the "Consul Zephyr Zodiac Highlines Only" Facebook group if you wish to look. Cheers.

Love the American looking car ,l prefer the high line dash ,but like the low line for its rear lights and more crime ,would love a car like this and play the charts 1957 ,

I was right. What I remember about the Consul my dad had when I was a boy was that there were no handles to pull the doors shut. You had to use the opening handles.

Had a 1957 model Pembroke Coral with Dover White roof,this must be about fifty years ago now reg No was XNY 97 no idea where it is these days,probably died years ago !
