So, question. How can these places still be charging so much for pink princesses when they are now readily available in 6in pots at big box stores?! I went to a plant shop the other day that was charging $89 for a 4in pot of PPP. The variegation wasn't great and several leaves were damaged. I was shocked they were charging that much and also labeling it "rare." 😝

So wholesalers spend a certain amount on plants to grow them and its possible that these are from when they were still expensive, so to make their roi, they sell them for more than theyre worth rn so they can break even. And bc they are selling them to vendors for so much, vendors have to mark them up even higher. Most of the time its not maliciousness or greed, unless its the actual vendor that grew and is selling them for hiked prices. But franz doesnt grow their own houseplants so that means they had to buy from a wholesaler. And judging how little they charge for other things, i dont think franz would sell them for so much unless they had to bc they paid so much for them. Hope that helps!

Omg. You should have gotten it! So so good! My local chain store has them for $200 or I would have one. I managed to get a leaf of one somewhere and I think I may have roots forming! Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

I got a zabrina that size at HD for $30. Went to repot the next day, and it had nothing but rot under the soil. It didn’t make it. Wish I had brought it back.

I heard that Thai's are coming to the big box stores soon so maybe good you held off. I gave in and spent $120 on one 2 months ago that is one quarter the size as the ones you saw. Can't seen to win at the pricing game.
