Sharing my experience here just so the importers can make an informed decision. This company is an absolute scam. Their whole shipping process was so horrible. I had to pay over $100 in customs duty. When I reached out to the support team they mentioned that they will refund that money soon. The plants were dead on arrival. When I reached out with pics they mentioned that their team will work on it and share a resolution. They offered to send replacements when I order again. I told them I wasn't going to order again given the experience and requested a refund for the dead plants and customs duty. They said their team will get back to me soon. Months passed by and no response - just a standard response that their team is working on it. 6 months passed and I stopped hearing from them. I tried to reach out to PayPal, they said they can't do anything since the order was over 180 days ago. I then realized that this company was just giving me false hope to avoid a dispute via PayPal. I went into the Throne of Glass series completely blind. I don't know what is going to happen in the next books and I am okay with that. I read ACOTAR and already kind of knew what was going to happen (thanks TikTok) and was determined to not spoil myself for Throne of Glass. I am very thankful that has been how I have approached this series since I already kind of spoiled myself for the Crescent City series (the first two books at least) and the ending of that. I'm exited to see whether or not I meet my reading goals this year despite working a full time 40+ hour a week job. I love talking to people about books and I do not have very many people to talk about books with so watching and commenting on KZbin videos is the most exposure I get as far as talking to people about books. I can't wait to see where this year takes you in your book journey!
@PlantingAshley25 күн бұрын
Yes! You can totally do it. Throne of glass has the most intense moments from any series ive read and i hope sarah brings that into her future books, right now it feels like her writing is catering to the popular audience with not much intensity on action but more romance focused whereas tog was such a masterpiece. Working fulltime is super difficult to fit in other things, because anytime you get to yourself its like ugh i have to cook or sleep or whatever. What book are you at in tog?
@Ylimeable77724 күн бұрын
@PlantingAshley I just finished throne of glass last night and now I am moving on to crown of midnight this morning. I know that there are a bunch of different reading orders, but I am keeping it simple and I'm reading in publication order :)

I was with you in your plant journey and now I am with you in your book journey! I just finished reading Throne of Glass (the book, not the whole series) tonight and I am very excited to get through the rest of the series. My reading goal for 2025 is to read 20 books, which hopefully won't be too terrible to meet working full time. So excited for onyx storm that is coming out a few days after my birthday :) Happy reading!

I read some of this in a similar order, but I would put fourth wing before any Maas. I would have hated fourth wing if I read it after any Maas. But that’s just me. But everything else is spot on❤
@PlantingAshley26 күн бұрын
Yea i struggled with that choice! But i thought if i put it before, then people wouldnt like tog or acotar bc theres not as much “on the page” as there is in fourth wing and iron flame, so i thought putting it after both, but with a pallette cleanser in the middle would be ideal. I think either works! It depends on the person, i wish i read it before personally but cant change anything LOL
@heidifritz103326 күн бұрын
Well I went Rt to ACOTAR from Fourth Wing, then after the first book cut to TOG. I have actually read it all intertwined. I am babying the last 2 books. I do not know if I can handle being done with TOG, tbh. I haven’t started CC. I am interested to hear your thoughts. I am just unsure.
@PlantingAshley26 күн бұрын
@ honestly as someone whos reread throne of glass like 4 times now, the reread is so good, u should finish it so you can read it knowing everything you know. Crescent city is also good its just discordant with the flow. Looking back now id probably put it very last after plated prisoner just because the magic system feels very weird in comparison coming from all these medieval fae stories to a modern day fae story
@writewithjoy26 күн бұрын

@PlantingAshley29 күн бұрын
Fillers i feel like are usually happy and beach episode-y, this book i was in thats all talk is like just ruminating in misery and sadness, and the next book apparently, according to the book jacket, the they swap again and one of them gets trapped somewhere and it literally says he has to talk her through it, so im just like, idk man

I agree that storylines can get really bloated and meandering. I love a good series, but lately, I've been gravitating towards standalones and duologies with the occasional trilogy sprinkled in. It's also fun when we get to follow different/mostly unrelated characters within the same fantasy world in different books.

I’m loving seeing you in this part of your life now. I’ve never commented much but I’ve been with you since you were making plant content and really enjoyed your videos then as well. So glad to see that you are setting gentle/realistic goals for yourself and put boundaries in place as well. I can’t imagine how hard it is putting your life or opinions online for a career. So way to go for handling it so well. Even if on your worst days you didn’t feel like it, you definitely brightened people’s days with your personality and just being you! Have you thought about joining a local book club? I was so nervous because that means I’m committing to meeting new people, making new friends, and stepping out of my comfort zone. As a mom, it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. It has expanded my friendships with people I would have never met that share similar interests, it gives me adult time away for my mental health to spend time with these ladies where kids aren’t around and we get to share thoughts/idea openly about books. I also found that when I finished a book or series that I was so excited about, I wanted to talk to someone about it. Most of the people around me didn’t really care and it started to feel isolating, because I didn’t want to burden them with a fictional story that they were never going to be interested in. Anyways just glad to see you back and look forward to anything you want to share about what you are reading!

I was wondering if once the moon hatched is really worth it bcz people say it's full of unnecessary stuff and they didn't care about the characters much and all that stuff.... I was doubting reading it. But now I will. Thankyou! I also love the blood and ash series so I'll definitely be checking out the house of beating wings series ^^
@PlantingAshleyАй бұрын
I think people dont like when the moon hatched because its a new magic system that definitely requires some of the built in dictionary’s use, its multiple pov, and it is a looot of world building. I read all 700 pages in under 24 hours because it was so addicting, its by far one of my only 5 stars of the entire year, and if you like high fantasy youll LOVE it. Ill say, if you loved throne of glass youll LOVE it lol. I think its very worth it And house of beating wings is like a punishing acotar, like plated prisoner. Very very good!
@Myra_lolaaАй бұрын
@PlantingAshley I'll be reading when the moon hatched after my current reading and I'll let you know my thoughts! I haven't read TOG yet, dk why. Maybe bcz I didn't like ACOTAR as much as everyone hyped it upto. I really like it. I do. But just not as much as I expected. And since TOG is also so freakin hyped up, I'm kinda hesitant to get in. Thanks once again for your recommendations though ❤️
@PlantingAshleyАй бұрын
@ i actually dont think throne of glass is hyped in the way acotar is at all. Acotar and iron flame are soooo hyped, and deliver good reading but not lifechanging. Throne of glass literally set my precedent for all future books and it is stilllll my all time favorite series ever, and the books i love are very representative of how tog is. Acotar is 100% romantasy, whereas tog is high fantasy, with some romance elements. Its nothing like acotar in that reguard, idk i cant explain it bc its complicated. The romance in tog is some of my favorite because its truly, actoss everyone, the slowest of burns and you have no idea whos ending up with who. Yes please tell me how its going as youre reading it! You can message me as ur reading it on instagram and ill respond while ur going thru it and we can scream and gush together 🥺👹
@writewithjoyАй бұрын
I also actually preferred Iron Flame to Fourth Wing, and I often feel so alone in that! It could be because I was already attached to the characters going into the second book, but I think that the lore and the world got expanded upon in ways that I really appreciated. I’m also a girlie that enjoys romance, but LIVES for more complex plots and fantasy worlds 🫶

@@PlantingAshley oo man, from this year specifically in the fantasy-with-a-little-romance category, I loved Emily Wilde, Starling House, Sorcery of Thorns, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter, and A Deadly Education. Divine Rivals was maybe more romance-forward, but I'm a sucker for Rebecca Ross's prose 🤌🏼 I did read ACOTAR with the exception of ACOSF (which I intend to get to eventually), but I never felt like it fully satisfied me and tbh I cannot stand Feyre, so that didn't help lol. I haven't read any of SJM's other stuff though. I've heard TOG is good, so I may get around to it someday. I'm currently reading Assassin's Apprentice by Robin Hobb, which is just straight up fantasy.

@PlantingAshleyАй бұрын
@@writewithjoy ill take note of this too! What did you like about it? Without spoilers 🚨🚔🚨🚔
@writewithjoyАй бұрын
I do love dragons as a general rule, so that’s one thing! I actually read it immediately after Fourth Wing and Eragon (I was on a dragon kick), so I had to get used to the dragons in Fireborne being more like beasts than speaking characters, but I ultimately thought it was a good choice. I appreciated the complex moral quandaries that the characters have to grapple with, especially since each of our main characters comes from a different socioeconomic background and therefore have really different perspectives, but the right/wrong thing to do isn’t always clear, and the love and care that these characters have for each other also complicates matters. The author also plays around with different languages and political scheming and does a great job with world building, but even with all of that, it’s very action packed and well-paced. There’s lots of pining and sweet moments between characters (as well as some dramatic irony that made me want to SCREAM but like in a good way haha). I had some pretty intense emotional reactions (of both excitement and weeping), especially with the last book. The first book was enjoyable and solid, but the second book is what got me hooked (there are new POVs introduced that I loved 😭🫶), and the third book solidified it as one of my favorite series I read this year. I personally loved all of the characters, even if I’d get mad at them for their choices sometimes lol. I’ve seen some people critique it for being “dry” in terms of prose, which I can understand, but it’s one of those books where you get more engaged with the plot than the language, if that makes sense. It’s perfectly serviceable and straightforward writing from what I remember (but it does improve after book one, which I believe was Munda’s debut).
