I can relate to the spider incident. I ordered a verrucosum from Holland (I'm also in Europe but in a different country). It arrived quickly and a giant spider lept out of the box. Then I had the plant quarantined and that evening a massive centipede crawled out of the soil and I lost it.

This popped up and I did enjoy it!! I don't ever buy a plant for more than 20-30€, but these sure look amazing and pretty healthy. I do hope they are all doing great for you!! Spiders are not my favourites either, but they are pretty darn useful for my outdoor plants, so I'm learning to live in peace with them. Imported, tropical spiders though...mmm I'd probably react the same way!! Have a great week!! 😊

So after some research I found this: Calathea Peacock "ardi", calathea picturata looks like Calathea Helen Kennedy, Calathea/Goeppertia Libbyana Could also be Peacock Ginger (Kaempferia pulchra "Silver Spot") or any other type of Kaempferia. These plants got me confused...

Amber Allen every plant is different but high light and high humidity usually helps them recover pretty quickly.

Gurl, they are the best looking plant ive ever had to witness unboxing alright? I don’t even get that good looking, no dent, no yellowing and hands down the best healthy plant when i buy one locally. Im not even kidding, let alone import plants. OMG where in the world have i been born in. I just had an argument with an online plant seller in my country INDIA on facebook. She said that shipping damage is not their responsibility and wont take any action on it, not talking about some yellowing and damaging leaves but the ones that turned black and no roots can be seen is still not their responsibility. Id at least expect a half refund or full refund for the specific plant. She then blocked me because she’s seeing there’s no way she can get away winning the argument. LOL

plaingal79 they said I needed to buy a minimum of 5 plants, and shipping was $100 including Phytosanitary. But other people have been told different amounts. It’s an individual seller so it’s up to them.

Question: Why did you order from another country? Aren’t these plants available in the US? Forget about the spider being poisonous, it could have been venomous! Holy crap! Just the first plant alone would be like $200 - $300 for that size and super hard to find here in the US.

To put it simply, it's more bang for your buck. Most of these would have either been very hard to find in the US or it would have been more expensive for a smaller plant. And it is a ton of money to spend at one time, but the individual plants' price are pretty reasonable in comparison. In regards to cleaning them, I'll be doing a separate video on that in the future so stay tuned!
