Normally you can leave tc in their containers until you’re ready to transition but now that youve opened it you’re going to have to get them out as soon as possible or they will start to mold. I dump it out into a bowl of water and use tweezers to separate the plantlets and get off all the gel. I pot mine up into stratum or a stratum perlite mix. Then make sure they are domed with 100% humidity. After a few weeks like that you can start transitioning them to lower humidity very slowly.
@MidnightRaven72 ай бұрын
Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but since you have opened the TC container you will have to move the TCs to another container out of that agar solution since everything has been exposed to bacteria. You will have to soak the TCs in fungicide then in water. You’ll be able to plant your TCs in a substrate then. Some people I’ve seen do pure stratum or a mix of perlite and stratum. I like to dip my TC in a rooting hormone before planting. You are correct that with them being so young higher temps and high humidity will be best. I put my TCs under a dome and wait until they’re acclimated and are more established to remove them from the dome. Again if anyone has corrections or better suggestions please post.

I second this and even like go through what soil mixes you use for all your different plants etc. like for different species. I know soil ninja do pre mixes but I know people don’t always just use them. It would be really good to see what you use for different things because your plants grow sooo well

I've done tissue culture on 6 plants (all aroid) so far. Here is what I did. When they first arrived, I left them alone in their packet and put them under a grow light for 2 days. After that, I took them out of their packets and rinsed the gel away. Be sure to get _all_ of the gel off; as I understand it, they'll rot if you don't because of sugar in the gel. To rinse mine, I just used tap water. I turned the faucet on the "rain" setting and aimed the individual streams all over the plantlet. The "rain" setting was good because it got into all in the crevasses. One they were all rinsed off, I potted them up in a coco husk, perlite, bark and charcoal mix. I had to spend time picking the smallest pieces of the materials since the plantlets were so small. Then I gave them a good drink, and put them parfait cups, the ones with the closed domes to trap the humidity. Then I left them closed in the cups for 7 days under the grow lights. After 7 days, I started acclimating. I opened the cups in the morning for 1 hour on the first day, 2 hours on the 2nd day, 3 on the 3rd and so forth until they were in ambient air for 24 hours. To avoid having to wake up in the middle of night to close the lids; once I reached 8 hours, I switched to night-time acclimation. I opened the lids at night and closed them in the morning. Once I saw my first new leaf, I started fertilizing. All size plants are alive and well.

Great plants! 🌱 My Ph. Glorious struggled in my old flat, tried everything ( it is on a moss pole). Had it under a skylight, near a window, in a medium light spot, you name it. For a year it grew slowly, small leaves which would later brown off. Then in August 2023 I moved to my new home. I put the Glorious up against a south facing window in my dining room on the ground floor, and what do you know, it has burst into growth, each leaf is bigger than the last and sizing up very well. Oh, the window faces my covered terrace/patio so it hardly ever gets direct sunlight. Sometimes in winter, when the sun is shining and lower in the sky, it might get some direct sunlight. I also have a grow light which is on all day on cloudy days. It never stops pushing out new leaves, one unfurls and I see a new one ready to burst out!

My Philodendron Glorious is growing very happily in medium light. It’s pulled 1.5 metres away from a south-east facing window and giving me a new leaf every month or so. Because it’s a fast grower this is absolutely fine for me, but I think it would grow even better in more light. Also it looks great on a moss pole. The leaves turn slowly towards the light

Leave tc plantlets alone for 48 hours. Then rinse all gel off. Rinse, rinse rinse the rinse again. All gel must be removed. Then pot in tiny container with medium of your choice well draining. I use tree fern, amended with perlite, small bark, small amount of good soil mix.

Aroid Asia has truly horrible reputation all over the Internet - I have seen sadly many unsponsored videos on KZbin and Reddit threads where people received dead plants and some ended up crying 😞 Given this bad reputation, they recently contacted several KZbinrs offering them free plants for a nice review. However, unless promoting themselves, they unfortunately don´t seem to send plants in good shape at all.

Curious what you thought about moving away from moss to a more climate friendly option like tree fern? Sphagmun can grow more quickly than peat but I’ve seen a trend of moving away from using moss to other growing mediums.

My glorious is growing well under a growth light in an otherwise zero light corner. It's never had pests, despite is neighbour catching thrips. It's never given me any drama of any kind really. I have the gloriosum also which gets mid light from a windows and is equally easy going. Don't get me started on the Melanochrysum, jeeze the diva vibes are strong with that one! Seems like my glorious takes after is laid back father gloriosum luckily. Hopefully yours does too 😁 I just chopped anf extended my glorious a couple of days ago. Got a bunch of cuttings from chopping up the lower half, all are doing well so appears that propagation are straight forward too. They're currently in moss.

TC plantlets must be left alone for 48 hours to adjust in the area where you are going to grow them for example in your cabinet would be the best. Then clean with distilled water and a plant brush removing all of the gel agar. Then rinsed again and maybe again in clean distilled water. When planting up use tree fern fiber and perlite mix 50/50. Then keep them with a dome on then in 100% humidity for at least 2 weeks before starting to transition them a little every day

Great import haul! The Anthurium is beautiful. It has the typical regale sinus and upper "ear" shape, similar to magnificum. My guess is either a papililaminum or magnificum hybrid based on the leaf shape, sinus, and veination.
