Excellent video. Hopefully you can do more flea market stuff in the future. This could have been 3 hours long and I would watch every second lol.

@@ScruffyLookinRGB the satisfaction of looking at the restoration results and comparing it to its previous state is what does it for me lol, and a little bit of nostalgia for the original hardware and it's game library😄

Yep, your knowledge of what's what is impressive as ever, Scruffy. That Red DS og would have been mine and I would have inquired about the Tom the Cat plush, being a huge Tom and Jerry fan. Glad you go to flea markets with your common sense and your shields up. Gotta watch those who scramble in from the sides to snatch a Super Fami game up and encroach on your "get firsts". Thanks for taking us with you! You're the best!
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
Thanks sam! Thats what us nerfherders do.😉 That sfc game the guy snagged wagyanland is one i already own so i wasnt too upset about it. If it was one i really wanted i would have grabbed it as soon as i saw it. I kinda regret not grabbing that red ds and the saturn but i have so much already 😅 gotta know when to hold off sometimes too

Great video, man! This was a lot of fun to watch. I've been going to some flea markets here recently as well, but obviously, you can find way better stuff in Japan. Jim always talks about Tetris Gaiden, so its probably great. I just got into some Puzzle Bobble. Puzzle games do have their charm.
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoyed! Flea markets can be hit or miss. I think the start of the new year is a good time in japan for finding good deals on junk because everyone is cleaning up their homes for the holiday. Id be curious to see what you found at the fleamarket over there. Tetris Gaiden is pretty good for a puzzle game. 👌

@@ScruffyLookinRGB I see. I need to check flea markets in Japan as well. Looks fun. Yea, I did record some footage and picked up games every time I went there. I'll try to make a video of it later!

This was really cool to watch, haven't been to one of these flea markets yet. I've replaced the belt on a FDS before, it was really confusing at first. I still have one that works sometimes but still gives me errors even after spending hours trying to adjust the alignment. One tip I've heard is to NOT take the spindle assembly all the way apart, just the delta-shaped big thing attached the gears.
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
Thanks man fleamarkets are always fun to go hunting at. Yes the belt replacement of the famicom disc can be confusing at first. But I think doing a few in a row helps to solidify the knowledge. The nice thing is you don't need soldiering skills to replace the belt. Yes i have heard that too. Hope my belt replacement video helps folks out when it is done.

17:15. Cyborg cop 3 sounds like a Robocop rip off. I am going to have to watch it. Going to have to replace the batteries in that game gear battery but good deals overall.

Great video of this flea market! That was definitely interesting! Do Sony PVMs cost a lot of money in Japan? Here in the USA, they go for about $300.00 and up.
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it. PVMs id say on average are cheaper here than in the states for sure

Wow, so much cool stuff. The flea markets here in my region in Germany are usually pretty lame when it comes to retro video game stuff, or cool stuff in general. That's why I don't go visiting them anymore.

Yeah it was a pretty good day for retro game deals. Sorry to hear that. Yes even here there can be good finds and others not so good. Just gotta keep up the good hunt.

the ds's with cameras are dsi's not ds lite's. the ds lite was just a revision of the original ds it still has the same software and can still play gba games, the dsi on the other hand was larger, could not play gba games, had an eshop and had a pair of cameras.

Nice thrift shop pick ups! There is a similar pose Arale chan keshi w/ a tail I have that's worth ¥8000. At first I had to do a double take cuz I thought you had found one. The game gear battery pack is a great find. How much was that GBA Micro? Looked like a good find.
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
Thanks man. Wow really 8000¥? I'll keep my eyes peeled for it next time for sure. Im looking forward to getting a gamegear now so i can test out the battery pack. The guy wanted 18000¥ which is probably good for ebay but not for a tokyo city fleamarket.
@retroremy Жыл бұрын
@@ScruffyLookinRGB 18000¥ is too much for the Micro in a fleamarket. I thought it's be less than 5000¥.

Probably a big question. If ur buying Japanese console/handhelds how does that work for USA? R u able to set language? Can u play existing USA region games? Power supply differences? Love to know more. It’s quickly becoming my dream to travel to Japan. It’s not out of the realm of being possible. I do business with Japanese companies.
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
Id say most handhelds are region free. GB, GBC, GBA, DS too. The power adapter in japan is 100v and in the USA it is 120v i usually have no problems when plugging in my Japanese devices in America.
