At 31:45 I was like ”didn’t know Japan got a cool yellow Dreamcast… oh” I think the reason there are so many 3DO versions is that the console was envisioned as a universal video game standard. A licensed format much like VCR recorders and Blu-Ray players. So there were a handful of companies that released 3DO systems.

Ha ha ha right thoese yellow dreamcasts are quite rare 😂😉👍 I did not realize that about the 3do it's one console I haven't delved into as of yet. Do you own one?
@bjornh1527 Жыл бұрын
@@ScruffyLookinRGB No, I don´t think I´ve ever even played on one. 3DO had very little presence in Sweden, but I did read reviews of games in the ´90s. I do have a niche console (CD32), but the library of 3DO games was never compelling enough for me to chase down one. I know 3DO has several interesting PC titles like Alone in the Dark and Mansion of Hidden Souls. The Road Rash game is supposed to be the best on any console, the Super Street Fighter II Turbo port has a unique remixed soundtrack and Return Fire was reviewed positively in "my" mag. Still, most of these are games I´m interested in learning about, not play myself. And there´s no more room beneath my TV!

Yeah there's 7 versions of 3DO iirc which all look different ... Panasonic x 2, Goldstar (LG) x2, Sanyo, Samsung & Creative Labs made a giant PC card

Since prices have gone up, would you say getting these at the junk section are better at the Tokyo flea market?
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
I'd say you can still find better deals at flea market. It depends on who is selling of course but at lest you can haggle a bit.

I am traveling to Tokyo for the 3rd time next month for work and I am mostly into switch games but seeing all the amazing prices on famicoms and snes I am really tempted to buy one of each. The question is, will I be able to connect them with my OLED tv? Do I need special adaptors? Do japanese games play on EU/US systems and vice versa? What should I be careful in Japan when buying a Famicom and an SNES? As you mentioned the FF on Famicom is harder to mod. What does modding mean? Is it to play games from other regions and is it difficult to mod yourself? So many questions... 😁
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
If your OLED tv has an rf, you don't need to mod anything, but since most tvs no longer have rf, the most popular mod is a composit or AV mod. Actually if you get the ff model they are very easy to mod for composit video output. I have a video on how to do it here it does require some soldiering. kzbin.info/www/bejne/oaqbo3mGl996g7cfeature=shared
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
Sfc do not require any modification for composit video out. If you live in north america power is very close to Japanese power so things should run smoothly as is with the original ac adapter.

If it doesn't have a price tag, that must mean it's free! :-D Teacher time: SFC/SNES only had the original Sonic Wings. Sonic Wings 2's only home version is that Neo CD version you held in your hands. 22:57 What I want to get my hands on next, lower left corner, Antarctic Adventure, Ebay sellers want a bit more for that game than this shop does. 27:05 Donkey Kong 2? Nope, King Kong 2, another on my to get list. Pop N Pop is from Taito, that is indeed Bub from Bubble Bobble, the GBC version isn't so good, the PS1 version is the better port, has extra content not found in the arcade original. The GBC one you showed in the video, it got a US release.... as a Yogi Bear game, ugh. 28:46 I believe that was 3D World Runner in the US.
@ScruffyLookinRGB Жыл бұрын
I can't believe they turned pop n pop into a yogi bear game?! So random🤔 Oh man can't belive I said donkey Kong well they are both big primates so I guess my brain fused the two toget🦍🦧🐒 Only sonic wings 1 is on the sfc gotcha 👌 Antarctic adventure you say interesting 🤔 Thank again for the run down👍👍👍🙏
