If I'm not mistaken, Hitoshi Matsumoto was invited to the Japanese Pikmin 3 Nintendo Direct to experience the game before release. That is so cool!

I got to re-watch this after 2 year's. It is too good. It is almost 1 am in the morning of Thursday here where I live. Once again, thank you for the sub.

Glad you enjoyed it! Probably the best thing that's been on Japanese TV!

Thanks for your great effort to make it accessible for us with the subtitles, because it was very interesting and I like Miyamoto's visions !
What an incredible interview. We rarely get to see Miyamoto so candid and personal. Thank you so much for uploading it with translations I wonder how much this Matsumoto guy enjoyed Pikmin 3 when it eventually came out

Wow, never thought Big Man Japan and Miyamoto would have a discussion but here we are!

Great interview, thanks for subbing and uploading! At 7:20 Miyamoto says ピクミンもやってもらっている (not 笑っている), so the English is more like "Oh, you've played Pikmin!"
For me, this interview is like two different gods are talking about creativity. Those of you who don't know about Matsumoto is the man who changed the comedy of Japan.

I can't speak for every Famicast member, but I myself really like the guy. He's on TV almost every day and usually has something funny or interesting to say. Thanks for the comment! - Danny

It took me 53 minutes to realise they were in front of an audience. 😂 Great interview! Thanks for sharing.
Thank goodness for this great translation on CC. Better than an auto-translate.

@@TheFamicast I went ahead and edited my comment; Props to your team. I actually was directed here from another video that I could only watch with auto-translate - which isnt too great but at least you get an idea of the conversation. It's a recent upload of a Miyamoto interview from 1990. Would love to see a good translation there; kzbin.info/www/bejne/iKvRfaWDZ69rl6c

No worries, man! And yeah, maybe that’s something we could get to eventually. Thanks for the comment, Christian! - Danny
Hearing miyamoto talk about going to e3 every year and saying pikmin 3 is in development as work constantly starts and stops on it gives me an idea of what the deal with pikmin 4 is lol
I really enjoyed this Interview! Does anyone know the name of this program by any chance?

Its name is "Matsumoto Hitoshi Daibunkasai"(松本人志大文化祭). Daibunkasai means that "big cultural festival" It was broadcasted on NHK,the japanese public broadcasting.
That interview seems to be from 2011, and Matsumoto talks to him as if he didn't know him. I don't know how it is elsewhere, but here in France every kids know Miyamoto since the early 1990's. He's the most famous guy in the video game industry.

I doubt every kid knows him anywhere. I think Matsumoto once said he doesn't play all too many games, but got hooked on Pikmin, then he learnt that the person who made Mario and Zelda made Pikmin too. He's really just learning about him and rather than reading things he might just ask directly.
