Male oryx appear to have a very weak ‘game’. I’m surprised to see any baby oryx after observing such feeble attempts on the NamibiaCam this past week.

This poor baby looks frightening almost the whole time it's there, and then they Oryx themselves bullied the little baby chasing it all around AFTER the horse kind of went after it. Poor little baby. They don't seem very kind to to it.

Without a male of her own species, I think the daughter horse is instinctually suffering to become a mother herself, and was compelled to claim the oryx calf? I think that when her mother horse dies, the daughter horse may be able then to seek a bachelor zebra? Unless collected to end their isolation, I think feral hybridization is imminent, at least to be attempted.
