Great Video Justin. I loved stamps as much as I like coins. I finally sold my collection Back in 2003. The value of stamps that are mint You can still use as postage today. The reason I am saying that is when the tropical storms and hurricanes came through Florida as the always do a lot of my stamps was ruined. unfortunately for those stamps which no longer had a mint value was used as Postage. The Collection that were still salvageable ended up with about 4500$. Now that stamps today that are issued has some collect-ability not worth stamp collecting unless you can find rare and old stamps by luck attics yard sale etc... Thanks for sharing. A++

I’m afraid it does, used stamps are always worth significantly less, and to have any real value at all they need to be in absolutely immaculate condition, while also be lucky enough to feature a nice and neat looking cancellation mark that does not disfigure too much of the design, but sadly this is uncommon.

It is important to say, that the regular 1 cent Franklin is not worth much, but that special stamp with two sides imperforated and probably on a very important letter, makes it worth much for the right collector.

It’s easy to mistake the green Franklin there where dozens of green Franklins that where printed from the late 1800s to the 1930s. I have around 50 green Franklin stamps including one on an envelope from 1898

The reason that the Benjamin stamp was sold $85,000 was beacause of the unique post card that was very rare. So the stamp itself without being attached to the card is worth less than $100 as mostly best condition! Anyone interested in any Benjamin stamps (more than 30 kinds) then just ask me and I would ship them to you! I havr a massive vintage stamp collection. Some way older then the franklins to. And old man sold me most of them because his son didnt want to take over his collection when he passes so he pretty much gave me all of then. Said there a lot of grill stamps thats worth a but load in there. Dont know what a grill stamp is but theres over a 1000 stamps in the collection. Some are super old. How would i get them checked out. He said theres stamps in it that will put my kids kids kids through college. He passed away about a year ago. He was a good guy.

I have the scott 596 no joke design measures 22 1/2 cm and 19 1/4 with 11 perf by 11 perf. I have no clue about how to sell it or where to any ideas? 99 percent sure it's the 596 I measured it with digital caliper plus it has raised ink like a dollar bill so i know it's rotary press. i got 3 of those stamps from 3:09 whats funny is, today i was cleaning an old old old house and came across 2 massive stamp collections. im no stamp collector. but i do know there are some stamps worth alot of money. glancing through these 2 books, i see that most of the pages are almost completely full of stamps... these are all around the world stamps, i would estimate there being about 150,000 stamps within these 2 books, theres about 5k pages in each book and each page has about 30 stamps to my guess. i dunno where to take these stamp collections to find out if they are worth anything. and if so where is the market for stamps?

Actually this stamp is really common, in fact it is one of the most commonly found American stamps in collections today, there are millions of them and sadly they have no value, the one worth 85,000is a very obscure variation, practically indistinguishable to the untrained eye, but with a slightly different number of perforations along the sides, less than 20 of this type are known to exist. Your 3 will just be the ordinary versions i’m afraid. Regarding your albums, your best bet is to look online for a local stamp dealer in your neighbourhood, and then take them in, they will be able to give you an idea pretty quickly if they have any value. But I would suggest you keep your expectations modest, while there is a market for stamps, with some being extraordinarily valuable as shown in this video, but these are the exception, most stamps (99% +) are worth a few cents at most, and consequently very difficult to sell. But with so many you could be lucky.

Kenyatta TheHammerofGod you most likely don’t have the stamps he is talking about. What he failed to mention is there is much more that goes into identifying them than just matching it to a picture. The same image is used for lots of those stamps. It has to be the right year, the right color, (some colors look the same but they aren’t), the right perforation etc. You more than likely have common versions. That being said still get them checked out, you never know. Try looking up a philatelic specialist in you’re area. Or do some research on how to properly identify stamps. It gets quite complicated. I just answered the post above this one with a bunch of info if you wanna check that out.

I don't understand the people writing these comments. If you can figure out how to watch this video, you should be able to find an online stamp dealer (try Mystic Stamp, Jamestown Stamp Co., etc.). At one of these sites you will find out how to sell your stamps. Before you do that you might look at the retail prices of your treasures. Most stamp dealers have enough inventory for the next hundred years and aren't buying. Stamp collections sell for a fraction of catalog value. What is catalog value? Go to Amazon and buy an old stamp catalog and find out. You can get a used Scott's catalog that is five years old or so for $15. Prices of stamps don't change much these days so an old catalog will be fine as your reference.
