I know how old this video is...... but it would've been awesome to see all of these in a system test.

They're about to tear down the old police station here in a few months. It's right next to the new one, so I can't exactly tresspass. I know they're auctioning off everything left behind next week, but I doubt that includes alarms. Do you know of anyway I could get the alarms from the building? Like who to call, what to do?

I dont know what happen to the old fire alarms in the vo tech school, they went under complete renovation in october 2010, and some time during the summer, the fire alarms were replaced with specter alert advanced.

Wow! Now maybe you can put a BG6 in all five of your pull station spots and one left over-maybe you can put one in a place like the kitchen or use it for your mini system

We have our own systems in our houses, and yes we collect rare things, they sell for more and are cool! :)

A building has pull stations that look like that, except, the model code is "SB". Is that the same thing?

The High school I go to now was built in the 70's and still has old alarms that I believe are Simplex 4050's. It goes in fast march I believe.

First, it's called a pull station. Two, what they do is not only collect fire alarm stuff, they actually build their own systems in their homes. If you watch NewAgeServerAlarm's videos you see he actually has a full system complete with notification devices (alarms and strobes), activation devices (pull stations and smoke/ heat detectors), and a (control) panel (homemade, called the 8005).

I saw a system with BG-6 pull stations in the famous U.S Naval Academy Sports Complex. I went there with my boy scout troop.

The 'SB' is actually the Surface mount Backbox prefix. An example: sb-6, sb-8, sb-10, sb-12, and so on.

The hotel I stayed at this weekend in Hagerstown MD had the same pull stations in the original part of the building and had Gentex Horn/strobes and the new section I believe its the BG12 and does have the Wheelock NS.

I own an Edwards EST Heat and smoke detector I found on eBay. It looks like a system sensor smoke detector head. I'm not sure if it's rare or not. I do not know the model.

I can never understand which is the "second-generation" BG-6, and which is the "first-generation" BG-6. Maybe there isn't a difference. Idk But damn, those pulls are in pristine condition. Well, for 2009 that is haha
@fireandalarm12346 жыл бұрын
Think I know the difference between the first and second generation Fire Lite BG-6 now: First generation (made from the 60s and 70s): Springs when you pull it down (usually turns to the left when you do so). Most of the time it does not latch in when pulled. Second generation (made from the 70s and 80s till it was discontinued by the BG-10 in the 80s): When pulled, it latches in and it does not spring when it is pulled. Does not turn to the left or right since the second gen latches in as opposed to springing. This info may not be 100% accurate, but it's a relatively good guess (I assume :D)
