Congrats Leone Family! I do think some Kinixys belliana belliana did come in during the 20th century, but very few. I ran a Yahoo Group in the early 2000’s and I have a photo archive from that time, and at least one person was keeping a Belliana. But back then, we knew the Bell’s imported en masse was the West African subspecies, and that’s what we mostly had, and Paula Morris in California wrote an article about how to distinguish and breed Nogueyi in the CTTC newsletter in the 90’s. Those in the know back then did in fact know they were breeding Nogueyi. We just didn’t really know what “true” belliana belliana was. Congrats, I hope we can all produce many more- I’m keeping a group of 3 small animals outside, and they’re doing wonderful. I plan to put them through some PCR tests and see what comes from those… 🤞🤞🤞

Congratulations. I love tortoises. I grew up with them. Now I live in Canada and I do miss the little ones. I gave my tortoises for my cousin and she still have them. I have a Sucata I believe she will be at least 80 years old I grew up with that one and I missing her so much. Do you sale your tortoises? I will love to have one again. Loved turtles since I was a little boy I used to walk out in the yard and on the land and I could find turtles I don't see them in the wild anymore it's very sad but to see you helping the species along is very good thank you
