Rafi sahab version has the sadness in it but Rafi sahab takes care of the point that his voice should not sound like someone is singing while slightly crying.Rafi sahab gives that subtle expression to sound sad but in a not crying way but simply sad.Sonu sir here just makes his voice a bit sad but in a Slightly crying way.But still Sonu nigam does justice to the mood of the song.

This is a beautiful beautiful (twice on purpose) song. The problem with this song is that it's deep Urdu cannot be understood by the majority of people. Because of this another poetic minded person needs to translate the song's deep Urdu lyrics into plainly understood Hindi. Until this is done this song will remain a mystery to the majority of Indians. It is such a powerful song but it's power cannot be perceived until it's language is more easily comprehensible. This is my 2 paise worth of suggestion. Take it or leave it.
