Something else I noticed was the use of color to represent different parts of his life, such as gold representing hope and accomplishment (eg. the gold arena and crowd after winning, his golden friends in the golden picture, the golden cat that is warded off by the black crow, etc.) while red represents bad decisions and mistakes (eg. the red people who give him the drugs, the red drugs, and the red wall that he shoots someone at) and black representing despair and hopelessness (eg. the black crow and the black pits he falls into). I think blue could have some meaning but I couldn’t figure it out and I don’t think it’s super important.

I love the symbolism of Lubo and the crow. Even though both are broken down (the crow having an injured wing, and Lubo being beaten down by his past), they are both still strong, and stand up to their challengers (the cat and the red-eyed boxer respectively). Once the challenger attacks them, hurting them further, they fight back though. The crow pecks out the cat's eye, making it retreat, while Lubo stands back up fights the boxer, winning the match. I just love the parallel there, with both being injured, yet strong. The crow waits while watching the cat, and Lubo waits for the red-eyed boxer to notice him before going back into the fight. But after they are attacked, they don't back down, and they make their opponent regret it.

Lemme see if I can sort out the timeline: Lubo here qualifies for the Olympics as a boxer for Russia. Celebrations, contracts, etc ensue, life's good. Then some scumbag pressures him into trying cocaine. Lubo follows the typical spiral from there, ends up in California a washout and addict. He turns to petty theft to support his habit, with a buddy. One holdup goes wrong and someone dies, so Lubo cuts ties and then spirals further, until he ODs. After being helped out of that, he finds the resolve to restart his boxing career, and starts climbing the ranks of whatever local association is in Cali. He runs into the local champ, gets his ass kicked, but gets back up and wins.

It’s really hard to reject drugs especially in your teens because everyone around you is doing it and they try to pressure you and no matter how many times you say no they keep bringing it back to school and asking again and again and there’s no one else to be friends with because you live in a really small school and covid and you all ready know none of them like you but need someone to like you because you are constantly being a people pleaser and your only in 6th grade and you shouldn’t be feeling like this and people in 6th grade should not be doing drugs and attempt murder but if you tell someone about the attempted murder you could get hurt.

My theory story: A Slovakian boxer, known as Lubo, starts his career off as a boxer, and he skyrockets in popularity, making his way up the ranks of boxers. He was at a club partying. Then a man walks up and offers him cocaine. That sparks his downfall. He spirals down a tunnel of sex, drugs, and illegal activities. He then attempts to rob someone with a "Gas Mask", only then does he realize his life mistakes and see what he is doing is wrong. that's when the lyrics come in, "You have two ways, you've got today, you got to do what the f*ck you say. you've had your lows, you've had your woes, you have to pull yourself out of the hole!" He saw that he was doing so much wrong, and that was his lows, woes, the wrong path. He then starts to train like crazy, getting back into the boxing business, and finally leaving one bad path, and going to the other good path. Please remember this is just a theory, nothing final or official!
