Hey, thanks again you guys. I love so much that you keep the videos about the adventure and are not trying to become you-tube celebs. For ten or fifteen minutes we want to live life and the places through you, not worship you. Thanks so much for honestly keeping it real.

Good luck with pulling those out!! I still have a couple of needless in my finger from 25 years ago, I was scuba diving in Laguna Beach and I put my hand out because I had gotten to close to the rocks, sure enough the current slammed me against the side of a rock full of them. Couldn't get all the pieces out since they kind of disintegrate and they tend to burry themselves farther in, they are a pain in the ass to remove 😱😱😱

SV GITANA yeah, some are permanently in there but it doesn't bother me any more!

Great video guys. Couple questions if I may. What was the leak in the boat in the bilge? How much were the scooter rentals? Jose you missed a perfect opportunity to get some free pampering. You could of fake getting dizzy and sick after getting stabbed by the sea Urchins. Next time ha ha. Are you guys truly enjoying the trip/adventure so far? Are ya ready to get back to land dwellers or you've got the sailing bug bad? I'll be doing the same thing you guys are doing and wondering if it gets old. You guys are da bomb. Cheers

Hi Mike! So glad to hear from you! Is your boat in the Bay or did you leave it in La Cruz where we last saw you? We've had so many leaks that it's hard to put my finger on that one, but I'm pretty sure it was a rusted through can of teak oil that leaked from the aft cockpit lockers. The scooter rentals were about $10/day, seemed very reasonable to us. Uff, that's a tough one! Yes, we truly are enjoying the trip so far, absolutely. If we were to pass on one piece of advice is to spend some time on land away from the boat though. Something's always breaking, there's always a task on the to-do list. Cruising is a full time job, the only difference is you're working for yourself. You only have yourself to make you accountable for it, yourself to blame, yourself to solve it, and that adds up to a lot of responsibility for a team of two to carry. In an ideal world we would cruise 6-8 months, work for 4-6. With sales and marketing backgrounds, jobs that are essentially long term relationship building, it's hard to do just that. I(Jose) definitely have the sailing bug bad though, it's hard to admit that it's "healthy" to get away from the boat when that's all I want to do! All the best!

Very nice vid, beautiful pictures and music! But please do something with the audio. It has to be constantly adjusted. How a bout a little comression on the master? Can't be wrong. Nice work otherwise, thanks for sharing!

Rather than listening to the local's advice and going against their warnings that some fella's gotta learn the hard way. imo keep the sea urchin as a reminder of your pain and suffering lol

Yeah it is my least favorite island of the area. Now Tonga on the other hand is a great sailing ground. As is Tahiti and Fiji.

Hey Gramps, would you happen to have any info about your trips and experiences? I would love to read more about the South Pacific. It's on my travel route when the boat gets here. Cheers

No but I am starting a new chapter this summer. Buying a larger sailboat and will be starting a circumnavigation. lots of scuba diving, Fishing, spearfishing, etc. More of a lifestyle and travel diving vlog then just these "look at me" type Vlogs. a lot of citizen science projects, research and exploration, Data collection, etc. SERV mean Sailing, Research and Exploration Vessel.

Humm, NO TRESPASSING, DANGER NO SURFING, sounds like something I'd do. I didn't know Jesse Ventura is an island drummer now. Keep living the dream.
@COUCHSAILORS7 жыл бұрын
"Jesse Ventura" is a pretty rad guy! He wanted local musicians to have a place to jam out so he offered up his OWN backyard! I'm much more likely to respect the DANGER NO SURFING signs, but you put Estyn and I together and we're trouble! haha

it sure sucks that those people had to be so rude... I guess they didn't appreciate y'all being on their island... I thought that most islanders were friendly and happy to see tourist with fresh money that their going to spend... I guess not at that island!!! I'm sorry you got hurt but they warned you not to do it... LOL,LOL,LOL
@Eurepakiri7 жыл бұрын
well thats not how they look at you as money a tree. thats the difference. they are not a 2nd world war country or island based where some places you get annoyed by beggers and etc

So apparently Rarotonga is a shit hole in the last part of your first video. I was planning on going there for a holiday would you say don't bother going to Rarotonga? and what other islands would you recommend
