@@smwg4187 I don't think it as a lack of manners and moreso trying to be respectful of their time. If you notice in most episodes he alludes to them being limited on time and also these games are almost certainly voluntary for the folks that choose to take part. Glad we are getting intros and he is responding to criticism in stride though! @turntsnaco8242 жыл бұрын
@@smwg4187 Again, they just made this entire point, but I think what you are perceiving as "inconsiderate" is just the byproduct of trying not to waste their time - which is actually one way of _being_ considerate. It's also profoundly clear from some of the things he says to his guests and questions he asks that he actually has a tremendous amount of appreciation for the design team and the thought and effort they put into the game. If you have to single out one specific element of the videos with disregard to anything else that happens to find a negative angle, it seems like a bit of a reach. I'm not saying he's perfect, but he definitely tries very hard and it shows. I think you're expecting like some super laid back, casual banter kind of show, but this rapid-fire sort of approach to what is literally a game show with a very defined structure has always been Rarran's style, and he's clearly trying to be relatively professional about it, so that's why it is the way it is. And I can relate - as someone who works in customer service, sometimes I get so caught up in doing my job so quickly and efficiently that I don't stop to smile and butter people up with my words - and most people don't care because they are content to receive swift, straight-to-the-point service, but occasionally there is someone who takes it personally that I didn't go out of my way to give them an indisputably pleasant experience within their expectations. Just like me, I don't think Rarran means any disrespect - I think he's just trying to do his job well.
@turntsnaco8242 жыл бұрын
@@smwg4187 I also want to add, I don't think anyone can derive enough from any of these videos to make massive, sweeping assumptions about Rarran's personality, what he is feeling, and what is going through his head when recording these videos. If anything I think it's a little inconsiderate and impersonal to jump to conclusions and assume anything about someone with this sort of limited context, but especially something negative. Personally, I'm often more inclined to believe that things are probably better than they seem, simply because there is so much more than what we get to see, and I'm not so cynical as to believe that everything someone does when I'm not looking is terrible, and they need to prove to me that that's not the kind of person they are. Basically, you're good in my book until you give me a good, firm reason to think otherwise. It's way too easy to misjudge someone from a snapshot of their existence you see on the internet, especially with the opportunity to feel like you are better than someone else in some way. Don't fall into that trap.

20:52 My best guess as to why this is written this way is because it doesn't scan too well to repeat the word hand in the same sentence. The real wording is also a bit clunky, but "Each turn this is in your hand, transform it into a card in your opponents hand" feels weird with the repeated use of the word hand. Hard to say though, knowing Hearthstone there's another card where it's written like that.

Just wanna make a small comment, you guys commented on Crystal Lion being really bad but that card actually saw play in a tier 1 deck, in late KnC dude paladin was really good and overtook murloc paladin, and that deck (frequently but not 100% of the time) ran Crystal Lion, and occasionally Stand Against Darkness, another very fringe and previously bad card. Another thing I want to point out is that Frigid Snobold saw fringe play in Karazhan midrange shaman, the deck that came up as one of the most broken we'd ever seen at that point after the nerf to tuskarr totemic and rockbiter weapon kind of made aggro shaman not as good. Frigid Snobold was used as an activator for spirit claws and generally just a beefy 4 drop because that deck had kind of a hole on turn 4 (don't want to play 4 mana 7/7 beacuse then you can't play thunder bluff valiant on curve). Great video as always, just wanted to point out these minor things I found interesting :>
